A strange experience. A couple weeks back, I interviewed for a Network Systems Admin role. 2 minutes in the call, they handed me a warehouse blueprint and said, "Design a NOC." Challenge accepted! In 10 minutes, I whipped up what I thought was a solid design - routers, switches, APs, security cams, the works. Then dove into a tech deep-dive on TCP/IP, DHCP, VLANs - you name it. The panel (including the CTO) seemed impressed. They promised feedback in 5 days. Fast forward 15 days... GHOSTED. I've reached out multiple times. Nothing. Nada. Look, I get it. Companies are busy. But ghosting after a candidate invests time and energy (and gives away free consulting)? That's not cool. Am I expecting too much to want at least a "thanks, but no thanks"? Is this very common for post-interview communication? Has ghosting become the new norm? #TechInterviews #NetworkingCareers

I think it has become normal, I also have experienced the same few times. On the other hand, I think, many interviews are being just taken without any specific requirements & sensible expectations, so when recruiters/interviewers themselves don't know what exactly they are looking for, then it will be difficult to give the justified rejection reason, so they may be ghosting to avoid embarrassment for themselves. Also, no one asks that why s/he got selected during such times either.

It can be that they wanted to 'Design a NOC' without hiring you. Sometimes companies need solutions and they will try to get that solution by taking interviews of experts and give a case (problem statement) to solve. The technical reviewers (panel) understand the solution you have put forth. This way they get the solution without having to spend on your salary.

Rahul, I feel you😢 It is extremely annoying and disheartening . In the last two weeks, I had the same experince with three recruiters.

Valid point!! I too had similar experience

Move on Keep interviewing and get the best possible opportunity for yourself don't get stuck for 1 option. Companies also looking for best possible options for themselves on a cheap expenditures so if they aren't going for you then why you are waiting for them like 😉 one side Romeo..
