"I loved your product portfolio, can we schedule a quick chat?" I often get variations of this in my inbox and I mostly press delete on these mails immediately. The best sales advice I got was treat a prospect like someone you are asking out on a date. How off putting would it be if you kept talking about how cool and smart you were! The best way to land a date is by making the other person feel special and making them anticipate how much fun the date would be. A cold mail should be the same- it should make the reader want to know more about how they could benefit from your product or service. What has worked for you all? #coldmail #prospecting #sales

This quote is 100% spot on. I use the analogy of treating sales meetings like a doctor's visit throughout my book because you need to diagnose before you can prescribe. First, identify what a typical patient looks like that can be helped by your solution (ICP). Then, ask about the symptoms to confirm, but to make a change, they need to require surgery, not band-aid. The good news is chances are they're like me, where they're not making a doctor's appointment (sales meeting) unless their foot is hanging off. Great episode as always Mark Hunter!!
