Hi #connections
Candidate 1 - Very strong in DSA, poor communication skill
Candidate 2 - Average in DSA, strong communication skill
If you were the interviewer, who would you prefer for your venture?
While preparing for interviews and placements in the last 3 years, I have seen a lot of my friends struggling on the communication side. Regardless of being very good at DSA, they were not able to convert the offer, just because they were not able to communicate it.
What exactly is communication?
Here I am not talking about the answers you know, I am pointing out the answers you don't know.
Suppose you are someone who knows array, and string but you have not solved a single question on Dynamic programming. But you know the concepts that can probably be used.
Some Bhaiya, didi advice here to directly convey the interviewer about not knowing the topic. But my take is different here. What is the harm in trying for it? There is no need to play and answer blindly. But if you can try then why miss it?
You know that you don’t know, but the interviewer doesn't know whether you know or not.
Try till your limits,
Either
Time will end
You will reach a solution
Or, with the help of the interviewer, you can get the right path
What is the advantage of doing this, Why waste time, on something you don't know?
Ans: The interviewer is there to judge your problem-solving skill, not the questions that you have already solved 10 times. Something new, something different, something out of the box.
So, go for it, give it a try, and crack it.
