The Met Office have stated that a yellow weather warning for both heavy rain and thunder is in place for much of the UK today with chances of flooding and possible travel disruptions. The alert stretches across a large swathe of England from the south coast to Edinburgh although thundery showers were most likely to hit the south of England, the Midlands, the north of England and eastern parts of Wales.
