Today is World Mental Health Day, and it’s a perfect moment to reflect on why mental health is so important to me, Sumika Summers Development Programmes Lead at WiHTL & DiR and certified Mental Health First Aider. Our mental well-being impacts every aspect of our lives—our relationships, our work, and even our physical health. It's easy to overlook in a busy world, but taking care of our minds is just as vital as taking care of our bodies. One thing I’ve learned on my own journey is that mental health is not a destination—it’s an ongoing practice of self-awareness, self-care, and compassion. 💡 My top tip: Prioritise time for yourself, even if it's just 10 minutes a day. Whether it’s meditation, journaling, or a walk in nature, creating space to breathe and reflect can make a world of difference.
