3D printing is revolutionizing the manufacturing industry by saving costs and creating reliable upgrades to critical components. The RL10C-X is a prime example of this, as it will heavily rely on additive manufacturing to bring even more cost savings. According to Jim Maus, Vice President of Program Execution and Integration at Aerojet, the entire thrust chamber of the RL10C-X will be created using 3D printing, making it more efficient. Currently, the RL10C uses 3D printing for its injector plate, but several other changes are expected to make the RL10C-X an incredibly efficient engine.
