Your brain is just like a muscle, it can be trained with regular exercise and exposure to challenges. It can also atrophy just like a muscle if you don't do the work yourself. So here's a simple question, what did you last do to improve your cognitive abilities? The list of 18 things below are more about the outcomes, rather than the exercise or inputs of what you have to do. That's why it's important to know what works for you. Start by looking at one of the attributes below and then look to what you could do to get better at it each day. Build new habits with focus and you'll be able to start ticking off more of the 18, but remember, it is an ongoing process, not a one off so keep doing the work. If you need some help, reach out to the team or I. Let us help you to better understand your brain so you can understand others and lead with the brain in mind. Mental fatigue is real. When you are working on a particularly thorny issue, it can literally lead to a tired brain as gluamate develops. This physiological response is important to recognize and provides further evidence of the need to take breaks, clear your mind, and engage in restorative activity. Doing these things allows you to bring your best work and higher quality decision making to your responsibilities. As little as 5-10 minutes can make a big difference in focus and productivity. What are your favorite restorative activities? Will you commit to yourself and an accountability buddy to make at least one of those activities a priority in the coming weeks? When you do, comment here on what you discover and the impact it has on your work. Good luck on your leadership journey! #leadershipcoaching #leadershipdevelopment #courageousclarity https://lnkd.in/eGnRSvd4
