AIRLINES just can’t sack professional/s to please VIP ! Unacceptable , per- se and it will be unprofessional / a bad decision to sack an employee , who followed the norms / SOP ! Let Air Asia admit that we have an SOP / clear instructions to delay the flight for the so called VVIPs . Then can appreciate suspension / sacking , as the employee didn’t adhere to the instructions of the management ! Nothing new here to be frank , as the self - labelled VIPs ( politicians / film stars / celebrities / CEOs in corporate ) get a kick by boarding late just to show off the importance and reiterating the status of VIP . How else will they attract attention - boarding last / late with two helpers lifting the small bags ?? A practice / peril , existing for long and a deep rooted problem . This is inspite of the best efforts by PM ( CEO of the country ) deleting the word VVIP from the dictionary ! Reading this story , one could observe that the Governor had no idea of the protocols / norms to be adhered to catch a flight ! Sending staff with baggage and arriving late and then making a hue and cry post missing the specified flight is hilarious . Can we (customers ) send the luggage thru a friend and take a boarding card and then come when it suits us ! Mockery ! The Customer / governor should take the initiative and ask the airline not to sack any employee following the SOP . Act like a professional head and not getting dictated by the coterie in the office . That will reflect GRACE ! Also rectify the POA for the next flight , rather than throwing weight around ! Tatas should act responsibly and avoid being unprofessional to please VIP . It will pass a wrong message for the VVIP breed and also to employees . Limited point - Let the company go into the depth of the incident and not penalise the employee / take impulsive action to please VVIPs ! That’s it !

I am shocked to read such a post by a Fiesta FMS Delhi alumni 😟. Now B-Schools also start teaching policy framework to it's students 😃 There is a thing called 'Protocal', and it's a global practice. Why these people board a plane at last? Do you know? Find out my friend. Don't be a 'I hate Politics & Politicians' guy.. And don't take it personally. Study & revert back.

Please read the article again, he is not sacked. If an airport manager of an airline fails to handle the arrival or departure of President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Supreme Court and High Court Judges, Service Chiefs of Indian Armed Forces, Governors of State, Chief Ministers and Cabinet Ministers he/she will be suspended in the most developed country also & an equiry has to be initiated. During such moments the entire airport & airspace also can be blocked or any flight or passengers/crew/airport ground staff movements can be delayed also.

VVIPs forget that if they want to feel important by hiding behind the protocol, they need to get a private jet instead of feeding on the dime & time of Pvt. organizations and paying passengers. Boarding late is not the protocol. Let's be very clear, the governor is not important. Paying customers, hardworking employees and private airlines employing thousands of people and generating taxes for the country should always be the priority. It is unfortunate that an employee was suspended for doing his job. AirAsia India. Not sure what kind of corporate culture Air Aisa is setting up.

Why would the official be penalized? Being the Governor does not mean you let an entire aircraft full of passengers wait just because you are late. Someone may be travelling due to an emergency in family, others might be to attend critical business meetings or maybe even flying back home to their family. Why would they need to suffer simply because one person considered himself to be above the law...Pathetic stance by adminstration....

Governor is a self labelled tag who does not hold any importance as such he works in conjuction and orders of central govt (PM). They are good for nothing. Politicians in india are propelled with egoes and manipulation and people should kick them whenever they does anything wierd in public. Trump as a US president were asked questions which he could not even answer, such examples should be set against such creatures.

Seriously Sir, this is bizarre, an employee should be appreciated for doing his job, rather he is rewarded with suspension. Still happens in our country, pathetic.

The British left in 1947, and we still continue the Sir, Haanji, VIP and what not culture. Very disappointing attitudes

Agree fully, I am ashamed to see such VIP culture even in Temples ! It is high time officials realize they are humans and must act that way. Can they do this in Dubai or my Country Singapore ?
