Here's an example using an MQTT sample application that fetches sensor data and transmits it to the Datacake platform with Nordic Semiconductor's PPKII. 📉 Key Observations: 1) Initial Connection Phase: -The most power-intensive stage is connecting to the cellular network and the Datacake platform, and sending the sensor data message. -A current spike of ~140 mA occurs due to the modem's RF circuitry during data transmission and reception. -The device requests Power Saving Mode (PSM) from the cellular network. 2)Idle Mode: -Once connected to the Datacake Cloud, the device doesn’t need to reconnect unless the IP address changes or a different device ID is used. -In this phase, the application drops to Idle mode, turning off the modem and maintaining a minimal current consumption of ~18 µA.
