If you follow Raybloc - The Radiation Shielding Specialists, you may have heard about Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust's new X-ray room - but what's the big deal? 👇
This room is pretty special to me, as alongside Xograph Healthcare and Modus Building Services Ltd, we have created the first functioning X-ray room to feature a Sense-X Screen for the NHS - the first of many to come.
Clarke Haydon and I had to go and see it for ourselves, not just to take pride in this successful project, but to see how the Trust, the radiographers, the medical equipment suppliers, and the patients had received their new state-of-the-art screen. Safe to say, we were dumbfounded by its reception across the board:
Learning of how the Sense-X Screen had put a screaming child at ease during an X-ray procedure on the first day of the room being used proved to us that this wasn't just some flashy gimmick as some might think. These X-ray screens are an essential radiation shield, which not only serve as a welcoming workstation for our nation's radiographers, but also help engage patients who are anxious to be there, whether that be because of age, mental health implications, or due to why they have been sent for a scan in the first place.
Radiation-controlled areas such as X-ray rooms are something we have been providing complete shielding solutions for over 25 years, so it is our duty to ensure that the solutions we are providing are ones that will be long-lasting, improve patient experience, and help with retaining and recruiting staff for years to come by giving them a nicer place to work in.
Thank you to everyone who was involved in this project, and we can't wait to see the next few come to fruition over the coming weeks ☀️
