A speed square 📐is a versatile tool used in carpentry and construction for measuring, marking, and guiding cuts. Here are some tips and tricks to get the most out of it: 1. Marking Straight Lines📏 • Align the speed square’s edge against the board and use the straight edge to draw a 90-degree line quickly. • Flip it to the angled side for diagonal or angled marks. 2. Angles and Miters 📐 • Use the pivot point to mark angles. Place the pivot at one edge and rotate the square until the desired angle aligns with the board’s edge. • Great for setting up miter cuts (e.g., 45°). 3. Rip Guide 🪵🪚 • Use it as a guide for a circular saw. Hold the square firmly against the edge of the board, and the saw base will follow the square’s straight edge for precise cuts. 4. Scribe Lines 〰️ • Use the notches along the ruler edge to scribe evenly spaced parallel lines for ripping boards. 5. Check for Square 🔳 • Check the squareness of corners by placing the square against the joint. Gaps indicate the joint isn’t 90 degrees. 6.
