Leading Authority in the EYFS. Speaker. Thought Leader. I provide advice, consultancy, training and a VIP Membership to providers of the EYFS. Learning through Play | Unique Child | Safeguarding. UK & International
Wow, my latest scorecard is beginning to reveal some interesting results. One of the questions. - Are you confident in your team's understanding of children's development from 0 to 5 years? Surprisingly, revealed that a significant number of participants could not confidently say that their team had an understanding of child development at Level 2 in the following areas, brain development, cognitive skills, emotional growth, literacy and numeracy, physical abilities, social development, and speech, language, and communication in young children. The scorecard helps participants who take the quiz to identify areas where their team require further in-house training and development. The results (only available when you get through to the end), give you what area your team are strong in and where you need to focus development. But, the scorecard is heavily reliant on some things - ⚫️ Being honest, open and reflective ⚫️ Understanding the knowledge, skills and behaviours required at Level 2 Early Years Practitioner ⚫️ Getting through to the end 🔗 Quiz URL: https://lnkd.in/ega3E6jN
Are you ready to assess your whole team against the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Competencies?

DIR 330 IS BACK! https://lnkd.in/eJBBV_2M This is a 3-hour short course focused on helping therapists and educators write treatment, service, and educational goals from a DIR perspective. This course will explore the differences between conventional goals and developmental goals. Writing effective developmental goals is much more than simply pulling goals out of a goal bank. The focus of this course is to help participants develop and/or deepen their own capacity to understand, conceptualize, and write developmental goals. The course will use well-established frameworks like SMART goals as well as DIR-based frameworks like FIRMS to assist in writing individualized DIR-focused goals for treatment, service, and educational plans. This is a very practical course for clinicians and educators that are seeking to incorporate DIRFloortime® and the Functional Emotional Developmental Capacities (FEDCs) into the plans they are creating. Pre-requisite: DIR 101. This course is best suited for those that have earned at least a Basic DIRFloortime certificate (DIR 201) with a minimum requirement of having completed the introductory course (DIR 101).

💭 I remember a time when I was just starting my practice. I was challenged to hold a three-day training session open to public enrollment. My initial response was a clear no. However, after giving it some thought, I warmed up to the idea and ultimately went through with it. 🤷♀️ This 𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 to accept new ideas isn't unique to me; 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻. New ideas, especially from external sources, can activate our defense mechanisms if we're not prepared for change. In this case, I 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 I wasn't adequately prepared and questioned whether I could attract enough participants. But 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 these initial reservations ignited my 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆. 🙇♀️ Being 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 and 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 towards both outside influences and our own reactions are 𝗸𝗲𝘆 for deeper self-awareness. This awareness enables us to expand our consciousness continuously, recognize our previous limitations, and adopt new perspectives—elements crucial to 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. ✨ To experience this expansive state, we must maintain 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 and remain open to new experiences. It requires adopting an observer's mindset. It's essential to remember that everything we've experienced up until now has shaped and molded our beliefs. 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 manifests in various forms. It involves receptivity to external influences as well as the ability to remain present—mentally, emotionally, and physically. Myth: AAC’s support is lacking. - Fact: AAC prides itself on the support it offers to its members. - We believe in professional growth and development. This is exemplified through our provision of free mentoring sessions for every member. - Our team is accessible through email and phone, and our dedicated staff, all practitioners themselves, understand the day-to-day challenges our members face. - Furthermore, we have a network of regulatory, commercial, and licensing lawyers who advise us on profession-related challenges and assist our members. - Don't take our word for it - have a read of what one member has shared. - In the words of a satisfied member: “If you have doubts about the AAC’s support, please don’t listen to other practitioners. Instead, use the energy to engage with Chris and Clare, and you will see just how professional and caring these two people are.” - www.aac-org.uk
