New Post: Rumors of a sleeker iPhone circulate. Does Apple want everything to be thin? - https://lnkd.in/gmrCsxAq - Finally, an iPhone for the delicate, dainty-handed Apple user. Rumors from inside Apple's design brainstorming allege the company is looking into thinning out its iPhone profile, the Information reports. While precise details haven't been hammered out, the new model could see a new, smaller combination of its front-facing camera and Face ID sensors, or a lighter aluminum casing. In the farthest step away from the current design, Apple could possibly shift the back lenses to the center of the phone to accommodate a sleeker silhouette.According to insiders, the plans suggest an "iPhone X-level leap forward in design language for the company," writes Engadget. Whatever that means. SEE ALSO: iPhone 16: Release date, price, specs, features, and other rumors The slimmer iPhone profile could replace the company's current Pro model design, which is rumored to be getting an even larger standard screen size in the upcoming iPhone 16 line. Last week, Apple introduced its new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad pro models, which were advertised as the company's thinnest devices ever created, thinner even than the company's old iPod nano. So phones are getting bigger, but also thinner, and they may soon be the harbingers of a generative AI takeover. If you want a perfect example of how to execute a perfect a Category Strike, watch 2023's `Blackberry`. For those of us who lived through that period, its an excruciating object lesson of how quickly things can go wrong if a competitor entirely reframes the customer expectation whilst building an ecosystem and, almost in a moment, both your buyers and your partnerships move on. After series of attempts by other manufacturers to deliver a popular hand-held device, Canada's RIM, whose Blackberry product had redefined what customers should expect by delivering secure mobile email and messaging (as opposed to voice and, later, text on the mobile devices of the time) was one of the world's most valuable companies. But, in an instant, RIM was rendered irrelevant by the launch Apple's iPhone which delivered `different` and entirely new ecosystems with a device that a that featured a flat screen, a music library and an app store. But the killer `different` that many miss was that the networks could move from selling minutes to selling data. That represented a step change in the opportunity for revenue and margin for the struggling mobile networks who were the gatekeepers for the devices. If you weren't in the mobile industry in the 'Noughties it'll also show you what it felt like to be there as extrovert business ambition collided with introverted technical genius. Clever soundtrack too including, naturally, the Kinks 'Waterloo Sunset`. A lot has been said about Apple's latest iPad ad, and Apple admitted they missed the mark. I get they were trying to highlight just how much you could do with their little thin device, and it is pretty amazing, but there were some eally big problems (you are hearing this from a technical guy and now a product manager). 1. Consumers don't love your product, per se, but do love that your product enhances their lives in some way. Sure, there are the "enthusiasts" out there in love with a brand. I may desire certain vehicles because I think they are better built or have features I find extremely useful, bit I don't have "Ford" tattooed on my ass or Mercedes Benz posters all over my house. The iPad is a wonderful tool that can open up new possibilities you never thought you could explore. Someone reversed the iPad crush video, and frankly, it tells a better story. 2. Very few people are in love with technology for technology sake. Outside of Silicon Valley and nerds like me - no one cares. This Apple ad was all about how cool their product was and less about how it could unlock your creativity in ways you never thought possible. It should be more focused on "go try something new and explore" and less "now you can clear some space out of your house." 3. ...and the worst thing, this ad and concept has been done before (maybe multiple times) https://lnkd.in/g6sih5RG So other than the cool factor of watching a hydraulic press crush things (which is, admittedly quite cool), this creative direction veered completely off course.

"Technostalgia" past and future for "The Pixel Generation" : The BlackBerry was once the king of the #smartphone universe, a symbol of style and status, and a household name. However, its fall was as spectacular as its rise, dropping from controlling half the world’s smartphone market in the mid-2000s, to less than 1 percent by 2015. The BlackBerry's nemesis was the Apple #iPhone and "The Pixel Generation" are no doubt fully aware that #AI is now leading humanity into a future of #digital #cultural [r]evolution! : https://lnkd.in/eitNKw2c : Contemporary Art Management : artsales.online

Partner & Executive Producer @ HUNTERS HOUSE, a women-owned direct-to-brand studio specializing in creative, production, post-production, and AI
My thoughts on the new iPad campaign by Apple: (1) Many people feel like the crushing diminished humans’ creative achievements by replacing them with an iPad, which is exactly what I addressed in my recent article — don’t put AI/tech first and humans last. Unfortunately, that’s the perception this ad created. (2) Obviously, the other purpose of the crushing is that it’s supposed to lead to a “major” selling point — iPad being the thinnest device Apple ever created. But nobody cares. It’s no longer an innovative selling point for a consumer. Again, your opinion as an advertiser doesn’t matter — the only thing that matters is what your consumer thinks, wants, and demands from the market. (3) For those who haven’t seen the reverse version (an unofficial version made by Reza Sixo Safai), I attached it below. Can you see how the reverse version creates a completely different impression? It switches the mood from negative to positive, which is a much more powerful selling point. We have to challenge ourselves to look at our campaigns differently because it can make a huge difference.
