Taking time to relax and rejuvenate ones soul is good for business and more importantly, relationships. So, while in HHI recently, i took the time to get my fishing on w a good friend, Capt. Mark of https://lnkd.in/gRFWSXYZ we went out to stalk red w a fly rod. My fist time fly fisihng for red fish, very wary and tough to cast to and hook up, but i did it. After about 2hours of poling the flats, i managed to hook this beauty up, took 20-25 minutes to land it, but well worth it. Great time w mate, left on a hi note. Mark is awesome guide, knows the area very well...

Cloud Storage is a great plan for small business. Here are some thoughts on what and why. If you are wondering about specifics for your small business that is where I come in. Feel free to ask. What is cloud storage? Cloud storage is a cloud computing model that enables storing data and files on the internet through a cloud computing provider that you access either through the public internet or a dedicated private network connection. The provider securely stores, manages, and maintains the storage servers, infrastructure, and network to ensure you have access to the data when you need it at virtually unlimited scale, and with elastic capacity. Cloud storage removes the need to buy and manage your own data storage infrastructure, giving you agility, scalability, and durability, with any time, anywhere data access. Why is cloud storage important? Cloud storage delivers cost-effective, scalable storage. You no longer need to worry about running out of capacity, maintaining storage area networks (SANs), replacing failed devices, adding infrastructure to scale up with demand, or operating underutilized hardware when demand decreases. Cloud storage is elastic, meaning you scale up and down with demand and pay only for what you use. It is a way for organizations to save data securely online so that it can be accessed anytime from any location by those with permission. Whether you are a small business or a large enterprise, cloud storage can deliver the agility, cost savings, security, and simplicity to focus on your core business growth. For small businesses, you no longer have to worry about devoting valuable resources to manage storage yourself, and cloud storage gives you the ability to scale as the business grows.

As an SMB owner, what do you do to relax, unwind, disconnect and recharge? Myself, I go to the mountains to camp and fish, and did so recently at my favorite campground, www.milehighcampground.com way up in the blue Ridge at 6400ft elevation, and 66 degrees when i arrived.. Stayed at a primitive cabin, built new fire ring, set up my amature radio equipment to get some off grid communications training in and commune with nature...

So, what does a company do when faced being held hostage by equipment vendors or providers? End run em... Unfortunately, many SMB's fall into this trap, of giving a vendor/MSP unrestricted access and control of services and infrastructure, sometimes we have to unravel the Gordian Knot of things, and take control. Example, a client was locked out of their own firewall and wifi systems, so we had to solve the immediate problem of just getting internet back up and running, and build out a temp wifi network until we could get the kit needed to replace current stuff. It finally came in, and we set about to building the wifi network out, kinda like making sausage, messy but tasty in the end. Once this piece is done, then we can tighten up the rack, properly label and document things to aid in future growth or to troubleshoot issues. Do yourselves a favor, and gather the info needed to take control of your IT resources; domain hosing, email hosting, etc., any/all services should be in your firms name, under your control, allowing your MSP to manage IT needs, NOT own them on your behalf. Next up, will be cabling and hanging wifi access points...These are TP Link enterprise class devices, easy to configure, and very good devices. Perfect for business or resi installs when reliable wifi is needed, don't scrimp, use Rukus, Unifi or TP Link... When its all done, they will have three separate wifi networks, all off the same kit, each a unique SSID, and passwrd, so the networks are segmented out.

One of my clients, Vida Data Group, installed a Zebra label printer for another client, Performance Pre Cast, they make concrete forms for developments, and they needed a solution to track inventory and such, and VDG came up w an elegant solution to improve inventory and delivery tracking..It was great to see a yard full of forms, and labels! This is how, IMO, relationships should work, benefits to all.. I love this part of what I do.. 😀
