It's amazing - 26 years of cleaning up the #rivers in the Roaring Fork Watershed! We couldn't do it without the thousands of volunteers who have participated in the last 26 years. If you're in the Roaring Fork Valley during #earthweek, why not recruit some friends and family members to help clean up a section of the Fryingpan, Roaring Fork or Crystal rivers? #Watersheds need spring cleaning, too! More information about the 26th annual Fryingpan & Beyond River Cleanup, including a link to register, can be found at https://lnkd.in/g-Hmvgwf. #explore #value #protect #rivercleanup

Check out this great guide document for how one nonprofit works with community partners to put beneficial fire on the ground.
Considering the use of good fire on property you steward? Our guide, developed with our team at Fire Forward and in partnership with Green Valley Farm + Mill and Regenerative Forest Solutions, outlines what you need to know and do if you are interested in bringing good fire back to your land. Find the guide at: https://lnkd.in/gJKibGRQ. It may help you to better assess your readiness in planning, preparing, and supporting a prescribed fire. #goodfire #FireForward #prescribedburns

"3/4 of Florida's population resides in coastal counties with an estimated value of built environment and infrastructure replacement by 2030 to be $3.0 trillion. Moreover, the slow-onset risk of climate change will bring frequent heavy rainfall and hurricane events and ever-increasing king tides. Rising sea level will also impact the saltwater intrusion levels, due to the porous limestone bedrock, threatening infrastructure". But, sure, keep banning books, keep rewriting history, keep blaming immigrants, keep lowering taxes for the mega-rich, keep trying to dismantle the federal government, keep taking money from fossil fuel donors, keep denying climate change... and then ask that same federal government for aid when that same climate change caused by those same fossil fuel donors wreck your communities. And, you know, thoughts and prayers and all that. Or you can leverage data, work on preparedness, and support a government by the people for the people. https://broward.flux.land/

Many forests in the Yuba watershed are unhealthy. Over stocked with small trees and brush, they are susceptible to high-severity wildfire due to fire suppression and historic timber harvesting practices. On top of that, climate change is exacerbating these threats. Even though the Yuba watershed evolved with fire in the past, it’s not prepared for the catastrophic fires of today. To address this, SYRCL is partnering with the United States Forest Service (USFS), private landowners, and other nonprofits to plan and implement projects across the Yuba watershed. Using my passion for film as a driving force for change. To make companies, organisations, and people feel good about who they truly are and deliver it sympathetically
It is so simple....🌳🌿 No matter how many times it has been said getting outside, in nature, is just so beneficial. For nearly 2 years, I've volunteered with the Bournemouth National Trust Volunteers and every moment outdoors reaffirms the incredible impact of nature. 🌟 This Sunday, I joined a fantastic team of 15 at Brownsea Island, partnering with a National Trust park ranger to support their Countryside Stewardship scheme. 🏞️ Our tasks include trimming invasive rhododendrons and selectively thinning trees (not chopping them down!) to allow more light for heather growth. Heather, a vital habitat rarer than rainforests, holds immense importance for Brownsea's ecosystem. If not managed properly, it could succumb to tree species like Scots pine and birch. 🌲 Moreover, heathlands play a crucial role in carbon storage, boasting some of the highest levels per unit area among habitats. Protecting these areas is not only vital for biodiversity but also critical for maintaining carbon stocks. 🌍 Below is a short film I have created highlighting the beauty of the island and the work we carry out. Enjoy. Ps. By the way, I'm currently seeking opportunities to produce more video content for organizations involved in nature conservation. Equipped with the necessary tools and expertise, I'm eager to collaborate on projects that raise awareness for important causes. Feel free to reach out and connect if you have an engaging project in mind! 🎥 #NatureConservation #Volunteering #BrownseaIsland #Biodiversity #CarbonStorage #nationaltrust #conservation #greenplanet https://lnkd.in/de2CTDkB

Arizona Swimming Pool Service Professional focused on swimming pool water recycling and water retention.
Arizona is a state where the Sonoran, Mojave, and Great Basin Deserts meet. About 35% of its water comes from the Colorado River, 40% from the aquifers (well water) and 25% from smaller rivers and recycled water. In the Southwest, seven states rely on the Colorado. Two of three biggest pool markets —California and Arizona — are dependent on the Colorado for a large portion of their water. While California and Arizona use around 14% of their share of the Southwest’s water supply on drinking, industry, pools, lawns, etc., 74-86% goes to agriculture. Here’s a pulse on the mighty Colorado River and the Lake Mead Resevior from PBS: https://lnkd.in/ge-iMbsg #Arizonawater #Arizonaswimmingpools #Californiawater #Californiaswimmingpools

NPR highlighted replanting initiatives in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park in an article earlier today! The issues discussed in the article directly address research being done by our Cross-Park RAD Project in collaboration with managers of these parks - specifically, how to respond to intense or severe fires both during and after the event.
