📢 We have some special news…. 📢 Our MD Martin Horton has made the decision to make Rivington Accounts employee owned! 🥳 This means that the team will be able to not only help shape the future of our clients’ businesses but also with Rivington Accounts. Martin says…. “Employee Ownership has always fitted in well with my personal values. To me, it means we maintain our independence and culture, but importantly our clients will benefit too. I’m still here for the long term and it’s reassuring for the team and our clients that there aren’t going to be any big take overs where we could lose our identity. My belief is that becoming employee-owned will benefit everyone who works with us. I can’t wait to see our future continued success.” If you would like to find out more about employee-owned trusts or converting your business into one, get in touch! The Value Sales Expert - Helping Sales Directors/VP's and sales teams understand and communicate customer value and master Value Selling. Supporting thesellercode.org
𝙀𝙥𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙙𝙚 3: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙪𝙞𝙩 It was a rainy evening at 221B Baker Street when Mr. Ellington, a beleaguered CEO, stormed in. "Holmes, my top client is dissatisfied! They hint at both revenue and margin improvement, but I'm lost." Holmes, with his characteristic calm, steepled his fingers. "Fear not, Mr. Ellington. Watson, to Ellington Enterprises!" At the bustling office, Holmes pored over sales reports, profit margins, and market forecasts, his keen eyes noting every detail. "Holmes, what have you found?" asked Watson. "Observe, Watson," Holmes pointed to a balance sheet. "Their client’s industry thrives on maximizing revenue while enhancing margins." Holmes arranged a meeting with the enigmatic client. Through strategic questions and acute observation, he deduced their priorities. "Mr. Ellington," Holmes concluded, "your client seeks innovative strategies to boost sales and streamline costs, thus improving margins." Mr. Ellington brightened. "Holmes, you’ve cracked it!" "Elementary, Mr. Ellington," Holmes replied with a smile. "Elementary." With newfound clarity, Mr. Ellington tailored his approach, presenting solutions that promised revenue growth and cost efficiencies. The client was impressed, renewing their partnership with enthusiasm. Holmes and Watson departed, another mystery solved, and another client satisfied. If you want newfound clarity into your value challenges, get in touch. DM me or book a meeting using the link above. Elementary! Keep selling the value! #valueselling #valuechallenge #valuecoaching #salestraining #thesellercode #sherlock Photo by Lucas Medeiros on Unsplash

I was talking with M&A partners at several top U.S. firms this week for two reasons-one of which was a follow up on the report I did for them on the most promising mid career and “ next generation” Canadian leaders in several areas. We got to a discussion of how they distinguish the strength of firms and individual partners. The first factors were capability, experience in delivery on similar matters, co-operation, delivering the specialists, deal savvy and understanding deal dynamics. All as expected. The main subject we discussed was the difference between partners who attract new top tier clients to a firm and keep them and those who are solid but inheritors. As a test, we worked through four or five partners in each of the main deal firms. In most cases, they had more current knowledge than mine but I could add perspective on many of the “ inheritors”. The main takeaway-they like working most with those who attract and still serve the clients they “ attract”-they are team builders, have better client skills, understand CEOs and GCs, are more current on the market, go the extra mile and know more about business generally. Ideally, they have attracted at least five new core deal doing clients and have an impressive performance rating on multiple shared ( ie we worked together) prior or market recognized deals. It isn’t that hard to take a deal list and run through the lineage and the repeat and “ lost” clients on the page. We came up with a list of senior attracters -not hard. Our real task is to identify the “ soon to be attracters”-

...now on to some business practices I've witnessed which aren't R&D related. As the R&D businesses struggled to keep afloat financially, Daniel Robinson (CEO) thought it would be a great idea to launch a company called "Macadam & Grant" - specialising in GDPR tax provisions. Just google the words "GDPR tax provisions" and your mouth will be left wide open. It's effectively a quick adjustment on a companies CT600 (tax return) to refund tax back to protect against potential GDPR breaches/fines. With limited research on the matter, I concluded very quickly that this didn't feel legitimate. After voicing my concerns to both Daniel Robinson and Jason McKenna (Sales Director), I was groomed into believing that the way they were submitting these claims were legitimate and that I had nothing to worry about. After all, I have no experience in such matters so I took what I was told in good faith. Later it was established this was complete and utter malpractice, which is when the firm decided to halt these activities with zero notice. Since then, mass redundancies have been handed out across all of the companies listed in my previous post. My personal redundancy package (along with circa 40 others) was a promise in writing that I would be paid 2 months pay. I received my first payment on the 7th July, however did not receive my 2nd and final payment yesterday on the 7th August. This has left me and many others in a precarious position where we are unable to pay our mortgages and bills. We received no correspondence regarding the matter yesterday until 7pm in the evening (how professional). The correspondence we received was pathetic to say the least. A generic email typed out to say that due to unforeseen circumstances, we would not be paid as planned and that they were exploring "other options". The entire business is bank rolled by 2 individuals - Steve Christophi - whom Paul Rosser has fond dealings with - and Scott Herd. Between them they own 400-500 properties which attract rental income. However, they don't have money to pay people who are desperate and in need of what was promised to them. The lovely and charming Jason McKenna yesterday (as substantiated by voice recordings) proceeded to lie to an ex-employee who was also desperate for his redundancy pay. Claiming he had only just taken over "Green Jellyfish Norwich" with the understanding he was only responsible for the 6 members of staff working in that office, and doesn't take responsibility for anything that happened prior. Mr McKenna, you have a lot to learn my friend. He also claimed he didn't have anything to do with "Impact Group". Unfortunately, that's not the case as demonstrated on their meet the team section of their website - https://lnkd.in/eJCfxn7p I am hoping that I, as well as everyone else affected, gets compensated what's due to us. Any media outlets who would like further details are welcome to contact me (I have plenty of evidence to substantiate my claims).
