We're using Network Function Virtualization based on Beyond 5G requirements to achieve high reliability and low latency for factory automation, or a fancy name given is Industry 4.0. In our latest research paper, published in IEEE Access, we focused on optimizing Virtual Network Function (VNF) placements to minimize delay and enhance efficiency for several Wireless Sensor Networks deployed in areas that represent Industry 4.0 environments. This is possible by using Reinforcement Learning to optimize VNF placement in complex indoor factory environments. One cool fact about this paper is that we used Tesla's Gigafactory in Nevada as an 'inspiration' to simulate the indoor factory environment! Usually, in wireless communication, to make sure no signal is shared to unwanted receiver, we look for finding the the null space in a channel, for example, Y=HX+Z where H is our channel matrix, we try to find the values of X for which Y=Z i.e, HX=0. We find the vector X that satisfies the above equation. But, what if we get full freedom on X and transmit power? This happens only when we can manipulate H, the channel matrix. That doesn't seem to be possible. If we add virtual channel variables that can be controlled by us , then?? i.e Y=GHX+Z where G is our virtual channel matrix. Now, GH will be our new channel matrix. If we change G, effective channel will be changed then, right? Can we?? Is it possible with new technologies? I THINK IT IS!!
