There is no doubt about the importance of #plastics in ensuring the proper #packaging of products. However, we need to realize that there is an increasingly clear division between types of plastics that have greater or lesser circularity, causing an increasingly greater impact in the regulatory context. #circulareconomy #recycling #sustainability #fornature #economiacircular #reciclagem https://lnkd.in/dBhRbvn6

The truth is that Oil & Gas/Plastic-makers don't want their petro-plastic sales to drop. Another fact is that three (3) common petro-plastic FOOD PACKAGING materials (PE-PS-PET) have ALL been discovered floating in our human BLOOD leaving Oil & Gas/Plastic-makers with tremendous PUBLIC HEALTH liability if it's found that Polyethylene/PE, Polystyrene/PS and Polyethylene terephthalate/PET now floating in our BLOOD are shown to cause human disease and human death. 2024 is the year for PUBLIC HEALTH attribution study on three (3) petro-plastic FOOD PACKAGING materials (PE-PS-PET) ALL found floating in our BLOOD for the very 1st time in 2022. Plastics in our human BLOOD will not end well for Oil & Gas/Plastic-makers. PUBLIC HEALTH is more valuable than plastic profits. JUST FACTS https://lnkd.in/gxBc38DQ
Happy New Year! Obviously France's ban on "single-use plastic packaging" for fresh produce which came into force yesterday, 1st January 2024, will reduce single-use plastic packaging waste. But will it reduce packaging waste overall or increase it? And more importantly, will it increase food waste?

🌱 In a groundbreaking move towards #sustainability, #Coca-Cola is set to trial "label-less" packaging for Sprite bottles in the UK 🇬🇧. This innovative initiative aims to simplify #recycling processes and reduce #packaging materials usage. 🌿 According to Coca-Cola, the label-free packaging trial matters for the following reasons: 👉🏻 It simplifies the recycling process, as it removes the need to separate the labels from the bottles, which can be challenging and costly. ♻️ 👉🏻 It reduces the amount of packaging material used, eliminating the need for paper, ink, glue, and plastic for the labels. 📉 👉🏻 It supports the company’s vision of creating a world without waste, and its goal of collecting and recycling a bottle or can for every one it sells by 2030. 🌏 Coca-Cola’s label-free packaging trial is a great example of how a big brand can use innovation and technology to reduce plastic waste and improve recycling. Share your thoughts on this eco-friendly endeavor by The Coca-Cola Company in the comments below. From 1 January 2030, most packaging sold in the EU must be recyclable and will be categorized in terms of its ‘recyclability’ level. 90% of single-use plastic and metal beverage containers below three litres must be collected for recycling, although wine, spirits, milk, and dairy products are excluded from this obligation. https://lnkd.in/d4q9kbkw #eudirectiva #recyclabilitylevel #singleuseplastic #comprarplásticosreciclados #ventadeplásticosreciclados #distribucióndeplásticosreciclados #euplásticos2030 #onlyplastspain #recycledplastics #recycledplasticssale #recycledplasticssupplier #buyrecycledplastics #circulareconomy

The EU Parliament adopted the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) on 24th April, aiming to make packaging more sustainable, reduce packaging waste and boost the circular economy in the EU. With 476 votes in favour, the new regulation, amongst other things, requires EU countries to reduce their plastic packaging waste as well as outlining the following packaging reduction targets: ◾ 5% by 2030 ◾ 10% by 2035 ◾ 15% by 2040 The regulation also plans to prohibit certain single use plastic packaging from 1st January 2030, including: ◾ Packaging for unprocessed fresh fruit and vegetables ◾ Packaging for foods and beverages filled and consumed in cafés and restaurants ◾ Individual portions (for e.g. condiments, sauces, creamer, sugar) ◾ Accommodation miniature packaging for toiletry products ◾ Lightweight plastic carrier bags (below 15 microns) A ban on the use of so called “forever chemicals” (per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances or PFASs) above certain thresholds in food contact packaging is also included in the regulation. Also among the measures outlined by the new regulation, a maximum empty space ratio of 50% is set for grouped, transport and e-commerce packaging. Specific 2030 reuse targets are also foreseen for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages packaging (except e.g. milk, wine, aromatised wine, spirits), transport and sales packaging, and grouped packaging. All packaging will be required to be recyclable (except for lightweight wood, cork, textile, rubber, ceramic, porcelain and wax) and minimum recycled content targets for plastic packaging and minimum recycling targets by weight of packaging waste will also be enforced. Furthermore, by 2029, the separate collection of 90% of single use plastic and metal beverage containers (up to three litres) will be mandated, either via a deposit-return systems, or via other means that ensure the collection target is met. Next steps are for the EU Council to formally approve the agreement before it can enter into force. "Most drinks are packaged in plastic bottles, aluminium cans, or disposable cups. Whilst some of these are recyclable, only 9% of plastic ever produced has actually been recycled." We would love to see how many plastic 20L kegs have actually been recycled in the United States. We would like to learn which US recycling centers actually accept plastic kegs. Re-Use is much better than recycling ! Free Flow is happy to have helped supply premium wines in reusable stainless steel kegs for the past twelve years. Restaurants and Wineries are improving the quality of wine pours, increasing margins on wine, reducing liquid waste, and reducing carbon emissions with wine-on-tap from stainless steel kegs - a package that is reusable for decades. Kegs provide better taste and less waste. Wine in kegs is protected both from oxidation, from being corked, and also protected from light and from heat. Wine inside a keg is kept cool, dark and safe from oxygen transfer. #Wineontap #sustainability #reusable #packaging #circulareconomy #environmental #sustainable #reuse #refill #freeflowwines #winequality https://lnkd.in/dKMpHWYT
