🌴 Palm trees, sunshine, and groundbreaking research in #MultipleSclerosis – West Palm Beach, here we come! ☀️ 📢 We’ll be presenting a poster at #ACTRIMS2024 on our joint work with Technische Universität Dresden, Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus and Roche in the development of #SpeechBiomarkers for MS. ⏯️ We’ve explored the links between pause behavior during a picture description task and cognitive impairment in people with MS (pwMS). 🧠 These speech features strongly correlated with measures of #cognition, suggesting that increased pause frequency and variability may indicate reduced cognitive functioning. 💡 This shows the potential of low-burden speech biomarkers for #RemoteScreening and monitoring of #CognitiveImpairment in pwMS.
