I usually do not post videos from overseas. However, I found this one interesting. Biotech is a hard business. It's expensive, time-consuming and the road to success is fraught with difficulty and complexity and many biotech companies never make it to profitability. $50 Million ‘Build to Scale’ Funding Opportunity Aims to Boost Technology Entrepreneur Ecosystems Across the Nation | U.S. Economic Development Administration (eda.gov) The B2S program aims to:  build capacity for entrepreneurs and innovators to invent, improve, and bring to market new technology products and services;  accelerate the growth of regional economies focused on industries of the future;  empower communities to enable technology innovators and entrepreneurs to pilot and test their products and services; and  equitably and inclusively increase access to capital for technology-enabled entrepreneurs.  EDA expects to make 40 to 50 awards, with expected award amounts spanning from the low hundreds of thousands of dollars up to $5 million.

The value of a biotech ecosystem is sometimes more than the sum of pharma, biotech, academic labs, service providers, experts and money. ➡ The last #Meet2Win congress on #oncology was an opportunity to hear pitches from start-ups and entrepreneurs. The recent downturn in the capital market for biotech companies was also an opportunity for MISO Chip to acquire high quality materials from defunct companies at a lower price. When we hear about companies closing their doors or laying off staff, we focus on the bad news and the reasons that led to this situation. But we forget that there is always opportunities for survivors to acquire materials, but also to hire experienced professionals.
