Harnessing Human Autonomy Explained The reason I joined Pace is our Human first philosophy. We know that processes should enable the humans to act autonomously in order that system and human act in perfect harmony. Many’s the time I’ve been introduced to the ‘Best Box of System Tricks Ever’ and seen consultants then set about it with large hammers to try and make it fit. This is one reason it can be uncomfortable telling people that I’m a management consultant - we have a bad reputation for crashing around places telling them we know better. At Pace we start with the human and work out how processes can help, not the other way round and there are no large hammers involved.
