Unsurprisingly, there was a full house at todays launch of the High Level Design of the Department for the Economy NI new renewable electricity support scheme as part of the RenewableNI and A&L Goodbody LLP seminar series. Lots of questions around timing, terms and conditions, dispatch down and constraints compensation to mention a few things. The details are yet to be bottomed out however the Department is keen to continue engagement with the industry to help shape the details which we welcome. As highlighted by Mark Stockdale, there are key lessons to learn from previous rounds of the CFD and RESS auctions that can be taken on board to refine the final NI design. Implementation of the scheme is critically important for investor confidence in Northern Ireland and will help drive development of the c.1,900MW of additional generation needed to get to 2030. Planning and grid timelines remain challenging however and will also need to be accelerated in order to reap the full benefit of the scheme given there will only be 2 auctions prior to 2030. A Big thanks to Mark Williams-Cook Sevi M. and everyone at Candour for having me at #SearchNorwich last night. I had a blast doing my Mechanics Of Storytelling For Marketers presentation - with a bit of an audience workshop in the middle. The presentation breaks down the elements of what makes a story to provide a framework for people writing pitches, social media, blogs and emails. I'm not a proper SEO but I work with SEOs - people who are amazing at data. The challenge is often how to turn that data into something that a non-SEO can understand. I love working with our Head of SEO Amy Baker to turn data into compelling stories - reports and recommendations for our clients. Selesti was proud to see Content Marketing Director James Gill present at Search Norwich last night. Gill's presentation focused on the mechanics of storytelling and how SEOs might benefit from using them to turn data into stories and communications that help stakeholders understand and engage. "It's always a great event," says Gill, "with speakers from all over the sector and, indeed the world. "At the last Search Norwich, there was a panel which worked really well - audiences love interaction and different voices. So, while I didn't have different voices, I did try and inject an interactive element by having a mini workshop with the audience. Not only to keep the audience engaged, but to bring the information to life. So we used the story framework in the presentation to create an 'SEO story' live - with input from the audience. Nowadays, cooperatives are everywhere. More than 12% of humanity is part of any of the 3 million cooperatives in the world! The largest 300 cooperatives and mutuals report a total turnover of $2.4B, according to the World Cooperative Monitor (2023). I'm currently in Argentina, and I'm surprised that here you have cooperative bars, restaurants, and even barber shops. It's wild. Never underestimate the power of personality, purpose, and passion when it comes to pitching and having an influence. That said, any new startup must understand the fundamentals - who is your audience, where is the gap (is there a gap?), how are you going to differentiate yourselves, and how can you tell the story of a future that makes people want to join you in your journey. #startups #communication #purpose

Concerning having a good pitch, three Cs are extremely important. The three Cs are as follows: Clarity. Confidence. Courage. In sales, there's something known as transfer of emotions. Simply known as make the client feel positive as you feel positive.👍
