🎮 Mobile game collaborations - An industry trend that will likely stick
We are seeing a lot of cross collabs and big name appearances in the mobile gaming space - is this the future of gaming marketing? Game developers are thinking outside of the box, instead of Celebrities/Athletes/Influencers just endorsing their game they are appearing IN it! It’s fun to see a famous persona transformed into a native UI for an existing game.
Recently we’ve seen the popular football athlete Erling Harland in Supercell’s, Clash of Clans. Another new collaboration is Laura Croft, from one of the largest gaming franchises to appear in Nexter’s, Hero Wars.
I think it’s a smart industry move as we love humanizing our idols. Thinking back to the popular “Got Milk” ads I watched as a kid (I know I’m dating myself here), I feel like there’s historical validity behind celebrity campaigns.
I wonder what we can expect for the future gaming characters and skins. Being a Nuggets fan, I personally would LOVE to see Nikola Jokić make an appearance in a gaming app. You never know!
Clash of Clans & Erling Haaland? Yes!
The amount of love, care, and detail put into this whole month-long campaign is incredible. That is why I love working at Supercell. Haaland is a long-time Clash of Clans player and truly loves the game.
It is an honor for such a Football legend to be in the game and to create Challenge levels, Skins, Sceneries, Events and more for this month.
Huge congratulations to everyone working on this one! You are amazing.
Check out the whole integration going live on May 1st! ⚽️
