Having the right discussions with the right people is what makes a huge difference to the energy efficiency debate.
Very pleased to be here at the Conservative Party Conference on behalf of the The Policy Liaison Group for Future Homes, meeting a wide range of colleagues discussing the many important issues facing our sector. I am also personally so very grateful to Robert Jenrick for taking the time out of his very busy Party election campaign to meet with me privately. Rob really understands the significant problems our sector is grappling with at this time and I was particularly thankful to him for discussing these problems face to face with me.

Creating a powerful working relationship between legislative and executive branches is a mutual effort. Executives who work well with legislative leaders and entire legislatures will more likely succeed than those who do not take the time or make the effort to develop relationships. Legislative leaders also need to develop good rapport with fellow legislative leaders, their membership, and the executive branch. Individual members are also important cogs of an effective government. It's not hard to throw a wrench into the works and halt government trappings. Electing many who will work for the good of all is something all voters must work for. #cooperation #rapport #government #legislativesessions #goodgovernance
The incredibly productive and responsive legislative session we just held would not have been possible without Senate President Ferguson, Speaker Adrienne Jones, and every member of the Maryland General Assembly. I thank our legislative partners for a great 2024 session. Our system endures because of you. We are able to work together because we agree on common principles. Together, we are making Maryland safer, more affordable, more competitive, and the state that serves.

Candidate for the New Hampshire State Senate, District 7. Retired Navy Commander. Former Town Moderator. Doctoral Student at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
Many of my closest friends and political supporters have asked me to run for President. The idea, of course, is absurd--we all understand that. But the throw-away line is a sincere expression of desperation after last week's debate. It reflects genuine, well-founded worry about the fate of our democracy. At least for me, today's Supreme Court decision giving the President virtually unchecked power and immunity compounds these feelings. Like many of you, I see dark storms gathering. I can't run for president and we citizens have precious little influence over what happens in Washington, but there is a place where we can have a greater effect. It has always been the case that the more local the government, the greater the impact on our daily lives. When you vote for your city council, your state representative, or your state senator, you are exerting a more direct form of control, and when you put someone in one of those seats, especially now, it should be someone sworn to defend your rights, your constitution, and your democracy. It should be someone who will not cave to authoritarian impulses for the sake of party unity and calculated opportunism. Someone who will act as your last line of defense. Please help me defend you and keep this ship of state afloat. The more you can give, the more voters I can reach. If I can reach enough of them, we--together--will be in a better position to keep us safe and free.
I just gave to Stuart Green!

Everybody is pretending that the GOP primary is actually a primary, but it’s not. Instead, it is a hostage situation unfolding before our eyes, and nobody is talking about it. #OpEd from Klaus Marre and DonkeyHotey. #nikkihaley #donaldtrump #haleyvtrump #trumpvhaley #GOPprimary #NHprimary #newhampshireprimary #2024election #politicalcartoon

#politics #unitedstates After the last debate before the Iowa Republican caucuses, the Republican presidential primary is now down to 1 candidate, the last woman standing: Nikki Haley, two term governor of South Carolina and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations for Donald Trump who never lost an election and leading President Joe Biden in the polls by double digits. Why? Donald Trump had no experience in politics, similar to Vivek Ramaswamy, before getting elected president. He made a mess of America as he did with the corrupt New York real estate. We should not elect people with money and no experience in public service. Money is not the same as public service. You do not run a country like you run a corporation, as you please without regard to labor laws by executive edict because you own the corporation, machines, and people. Public servants do not own the country. The people do. In fact, what we also need in the American corporation is democracy for the United States to be a genuine democracy by having a voice and transparency in the decisions which affect people’s lives and livelihoods because everybody works somewhere for a living. Trump must endorse Haley and gracefully bow out of the nomination race.

Christian D. Menefee Congratulations. If you can resolve this matter. You have my vote. January 10, 2024: Hays County Judge- Denies my Petition for Adoption of 4 sibling brothers, from being adopted together; siding with DFPS recommendation to allow the children to continue in their separate placements and be adopted in separate homes, despite: 1) CPS naming me the adoptive placement for 2 of the 4 siblings ( in 2 out of the 5 days of the biological mother's termination trial) , and 2) Despite my using the judicial system and paying over $60K + in attorney fees in order to get my foster sons placed back into my home and adopted, along with their 2 little brothers; after parents rights were terminated; 3) Despite my foster sons repeated claims of wanting to be adopted by me and wanting to return to my home; 4) Despite CASA and CPS reports submitted to the court in December 2023 that show that the 4 sibling brothers' emotional and mental condition continue to worsen in the State's Care, in separate adoptive homes; not permitting them to be returned to my home). 5) Despite CPS testifying, in my adoption hearing, that they did not have a "good reason" for withholding consent of adopting the 4 brothers. On January 13, 2023; DFPS partnered with my foster care agency (in Harris County) to close my home citing, "due to DFPS concerns that I violated client confidentiality"; I was not provided with specific information about what that was, nor was I given any information on how to resolve any future incidents and was not provided with information on how I could appeal the decision. I have not been able to get licensed to adopt in Texas due to the foster care agency (in Harris County) stating in their transfer paperwork that "they do not recommend my home for future placement". DFPS' strategy was to make sure I did not have a license to foster/adopt when I was finally able to get my adoption hearing before the judge. They succeeded. DFPS and the foster care agency prefer children to stay in unlicensed placements and hotels rather than allow me the opportunity to give my foster sons and their 2 brothers a place to have called their own. The DFPS spent thousands of taxpayer dollars to block me from giving these 4 brothers a chance to have their family together again.) No one should have to: a. Max out their credit cards; b. Get a personal loan c. Empty their savings account d. Pull out all their retirement from the school district pension in order to adopt 4 sibling brothers out of foster care and be contested by a CPS caseworker that never visited my home, never spoke to me in person and knew me all but 3 weeks out of the 18 months my 2 foster sons were in my home. I’m proud to share that the Houston Chronicle has endorsed my re-election campaign for Harris County Attorney! They recognized that not only has my office shown a passion for advocating for underserved communities, but we’ve also taken a bipartisan approach to getting things done, and we’re committed to taking on important cases—even against Texas state officials. Our work is making a real difference, and I’m excited to continue fighting for a fairer, stronger Harris County. Check out the endorsement here ⬇️⬇️⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gVm6tsct
