Out of all the fundraising methods we and thousands of other nonprofits have tested, the easiest BY FAR has been our Golden Ticket Raffle. If you've been utilizing HGA for a while, you may be sick of hearing about it. But, it's too good not to share. This strategy allows nonprofits to sell raffle tickets to donors at a premium for a chance to win a trip to one of eight popular destinations (depending on which Golden Ticket package is chosen): $100 Ticket 1) Cabo 2) Tuscany 3) Sedona 4) Kentucky $250 Ticket 1) Dublin 2) Bordeaux 3) Napa 4) Amalfi Depending on which Golden Ticket package you choose, you'll raise either $10,000 or $25,000 at your event. This allows your guests, who may not be ready to commit more than $100, to contribute to your cause. Ready to raise more with our Golden Ticket? Reserve yours now ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gVZYpT5R #nonprofitfundraising #fundraisingeventhelp #rafflestrategy #raffleitems #auctionitems #nonprofits #fundraisingmadeeasy

Behind every small charity is someone balancing multiple roles, often in their evening hours. Tonight my evening has consisted of: - Helping a friend write their trustee role descriptions - Working with my cousin to pull together my own charity annual accounts - Squeezing in Christmas shopping - Even finding time for some family history research This snapshot perfectly captures what running a small charity looks like. It's about making time in the quiet evening hours, between day jobs and family life, to keep our organisations running and support others in the sector. This is why peer support in the small charity sector is crucial. When we share our expertise and time with others, it creates a ripple effect of improved governance and stronger organisations across the sector. That's what makes our community special - real people, running real charities, supporting each other through the everyday challenges. #SmallCharities #CharityLeadership #PeerSupport #CharityGovernance

The weather might have a say in your fundraising success! Fundraising is the lifeblood of UK charities and not-for-profits, but have you noticed how much external factors influence it? We often talk about world events, but what about the weather, the time of year, or even the time of day? - Does warm, sunny weather encourage more giving because our moods are lifted and we feel more generous? Studies suggest that weather can have a surprising impact on our behaviour, including our willingness to help others. - Are December campaigns more successful simply because it's the season of giving, or is there something deeper about the holiday spirit that motivates people to donate more freely? Can the financial year-end in April help corporate fundraising from the tax benefits for donors? - Is there a “magic hour” when people are more likely to donate, perhaps during quiet evening hours when they reflect on their day or early mornings when they feel most motivated to make a difference? Understanding these patterns could help organisations plan their outreach more effectively. We’d love to hear from you! Share your insights and experiences in the comments. What trends or patterns have you noticed in your fundraising efforts? #Charity #Fundraising #NonProfit #SunnyDay #Cheltenham

Have your say! Charity Governance Code consultation The Charity Governance Code is a practical tool to help charities and their trustees develop high standards of governance. The Code’s Steering Group want to take a wider look at the Code, exploring its content, structure, applicability to different sizes of charity and user-friendliness of the framework as well as barriers or obstacles to using the Code. As such we invite responses to the consultation from both users and non-users. We are interested to hear from those with awareness of the Code and those who have limited familiarity. The steering group has therefore launched a public consultation to help refresh and reshape the Code and make sure the Code remains relevant and useful. The survey is open to charities across the country - current users and people new to the Code from 8 May 2024 until 11 August 2024. Can you put your ego to the side? At Charity Extra, I have the privilege of working with highly successful business people on fundraising campaigns for charities they support. I’m talking about people that built multiple million pound businesses and transformed their industry. And so you’d expect them to lead the conversation and dictate how things should be done. That “it’s their way or the highway” But in most cases it’s the total opposite. It’s remarkable and humbling to see how they leave their ego at the door and are eager to listen to our advice. They recognize that while they’re experts in their fields, charity fundraising is a different space, and they’re honest enough to admit they don’t know it all. And here’s the most inspiring part: They’re not doing it for their own benefit. They do it to help improve the lives of the people supported by the charity. And it’s a beautiful thing to see. So why am I sharing this with you? Because I think that everyone involved in charity fundraising should ask themselves: “What’s more important? My ego or the cause?”
