🤔 Convenience vs Taste 😋 After being cooped up at home for the last 90 days, away from the corporate hustle, I've finally come to terms with the harsh truth: convenience is a cruel mistress. The taste buds have been betrayed, folks! All this time, I thought I was saving time, but really, I was sacrificing flavor. This epiphany hit me after spending a staggering Rs3.5L to Rs4L on online food orders, with an average ticket size of Rs150, between 2017 and 2024. From now on, it’s taste > convenience for me. What's your take? sample size : 30+ Dinein meals in last 90 days from different outlets #DineIn or #Delivery?

This free bread in the beginning of your meal is actually a marketing tactic 🤯 I am letting you in a secret as to why fancy restaurants serve bread at the start of the meal 🥗More food is eaten causes a glucose and insulin spike, which results in you eating more and subsequently a blood-sugar crash 90 minutes later, so you are also more likely to order dessert. 🥗To keep ordering for more drinks While the cafe takes time to bring out the order, more time is used in ordering more drinks. 🥗To discourage people from changing their mind and leaving; once you’d got stuck into the bread, you were committed. 🥗Serving bread allows diners to cleanse and prepare their palates for the upcoming flavors. It sets the stage for the main course by awakening taste buds. That means free bread is not just an appetiser, it’s a strategic and thoughtful element🥖🍽 . We asked, and you answered! Here’s what matters most to you when choosing a food delivery service: Quality of Food (66%) 🌟 The top priority for most is the quality of the food. You’ve spoken loud and clear: fresh and high-quality meals are key to your choice! Convenience (13%) 🕒 Easy ordering, quick delivery, and excellent customer service are important factors in your decision-making process. Variety of Restaurants (10%) 🍣🍔 While variety is nice, only 10% consider it the most important. It seems that having a wide range of options is less critical compared to food quality. Price Competitiveness (10%) 💸 While competitive pricing is appreciated, it's not as crucial as the quality of food. Key Takeaway: To all food delivery services out there—focus on delivering top-notch food quality! 🥇 Ensuring that every meal is delicious and well-prepared will win you the most points with your customers. Thanks to everyone who voted! Stay tuned for more polls and insights. 🗳️📈 #FoodDelivery #PollResults #ConsumerInsights #QualityOverPrice #FoodLovers #Convenience #Variety #FoodQuality

Can there be many other categories where branded is beating own label, apart from frozen ready meals? (In the food sector that is, different story in bev.) Just catching up on January's issues of The Grocer and delighted to read that branded frozen meal volumes are up 5.4% vs own label's 2.2%... Increasingly time-poor consumers with a greater awareness of what's in their food, who want both convenience AND quality. Whatever the reason, Jess Cooks - Simple Family Suppers is ready to take full advantage of this trend! #foodandbeverageindustry #frozenfood #frozenmeals

As tempting as it might be, you should NEVER just price out your protein. It is super easy to create prices for dishes based only on the meat costs and then adding a few extra dollars for the other food items accompanying the meat. But this can often do more harm than good. Not only does it lead to inaccurate recipe costs but it can also: ❌ Lower your profit margins For example, if you have a meat dish that is served with carrots and the price of carrots changes drastically, you might end up making a loss on the dish if the price is based solely on the cost of the protein. ❌ Create problems with your menu planning If you add a few extra dollars onto the meat price you could run the risk of having a lot dishes with similar prices. ❌ Confuse your customers Less variety in prices for dishes confuses and often disheartens customers who might not be able to afford them. Good menus have a variety of prices to cater to as many customers as possible. I know it’s often tempting to take the easy way out, but in today’s economy it’s not a risk worth taking. #dontpriceoutprotein #restaurantindustry

I help you find the words that get people talking - and clients buying. Strategist | Copywriter | StoryBrand Guide | World traveller (63 countries and counting!)
Here are two common issues I help my clients overcome when it comes to their offers: 1. They aren’t aligned with what their customers want. 2. They’re too complicated for the customer, so they're not sure what they’re getting (which means they never say yes). The result? Confusion. Hesitation. And crickets. If you want potential clients to say yes, make your offer easy to deliver and irresistible to turn down. It’s like ordering a “quick and easy” meal kit that promises dinner in 20 minutes. But by step 3, you’re chopping 17 ingredients and whipping up a sauce that requires three pans. Meanwhile, your 20-minute dinner has somehow turned into an hour-long culinary marathon and everyone’s ordering pizza. When your offer looks “quick and easy” on the surface but turns out to be a logistical nightmare, you lose your customer. Keep it simple, deliver on your promises, and don’t make them reach for the takeout menu.
