Briefly state what learners should achieve by the end of the session. 👌Engage with strong entry behaviors and an amazing starter – 2 minutes. Use an interesting introduction or activity to grab attention and set the tone. (Start with an inquiry question to promote interaction and collaboration). 👌Spend about 4 minutes teaching – 4 minutes. Focus on delivering key content, demonstrating your teaching method, and keeping the lesson interactive. 👌Include formative assessment – 1 minute. Quickly assess learners’ understanding using a short quiz, poll, or question. 👌Conclude by summarizing the key points – 1 minute. Recap the most important concepts covered. 👌Encourage questions from learners – 1 minute. Open the floor for questions to reinforce understanding and clarify any doubts. An inspiring Monday. This Monday, I had the pleasure of hosting and facilitating a 3-hour session titled "Inspiring Lecturing," tailored for a diverse group of academics. Our attendees ranged from seasoned educators with over 30 years of experience to those just embarking on their teaching careers. The richness of this diversity brought an incredible depth to our discussions and interactions. 📚 Workshop Highlights: Diverse Audience: Embraced the wisdom of experienced academics and the fresh perspectives of new educators. Engagement & Interaction: Focused on interactive learning, ensuring everyone was not just a listener but an active participant. Innovative Techniques: Explored new ideas and perspectives on teaching, injecting energy and color into our discussions.
