𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 thinking can transform vocational training by focusing on each individual’s motivations, interests, and unique path and then on core principles of the trade to build education paths that work for everyone. Whether the trade skill is welding, HVAC, additive manufacturing, graphic design, digital animation, or anything in between, each has common first-principle concepts that need to be addressed! The path forward does not have to be 100% the same as the path already traveled. Learn from what's worked, but return to the core truths that must be addressed and build from there. We have over 4,000 students attending at least one class per year, and yet we know them by name. Our goal is to know and help advance the goals of each person, no matter what that looks like. #community 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑠 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑒𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑜𝑟 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑒𝑟 𝑗𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑦? I think the concept of coaching here in the UK is still relatively new and I’ve been in some situations where owners and directors have been somewhat offended at the very thought of having a coach. In the majority of cases, I’m helping the coachee reach goals they already know what to do to get there but for whatever reason are not. I am there to challenge them, to offer differing ideas, be a sounding board, and in some cases, it often feels like a therapist. What my clients always get from me is honesty and openness and at times, that means telling you the things you don’t want to hear. You just have to remember, it’s coming from a good place and ultimately, that’s what I get paid for. #printingindustry #print #printing #printcoach #printcoaching #mentor #businesscoach #increaseyourprofits
