Raytheon reposted this
📰 #NEWS: Raytheon has delivered the first AN/TPY-2 missile defense radar for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is the first AN/TPY-2 radar with a complete Gallium Nitride (GaN) populated array in the system. The GaN technology is a key enabler in allowing the AN/TPY-2 radar to support the hypersonic mission and provides up to two times the sensitivity to increase range as well as expand surveillance capacity. “The latest AN/TPY-2 radar is now in a different class. With the help of funding from both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the U.S. government, Raytheon made more than 50 enhancements to the radar including the introduction of GaN technology,” said Paul Ferraro, President of Air & Space Defense Systems for Raytheon. “These upgrades will help Saudi Arabia to better defend itself from missile threats and will additionally benefit the entire fleet with enhanced sensing capability.” Details: https://rtxcorp.co/4esH3Qe
Proud to have provided quality approval for this Radar’s Power Units during buy off at the supplier. Excellent news. Hopefully the people of KSA shall be safer with it.
RADAR is an acronym and sometimes called electronic eye. Weak air defense systems with good working RADAR, how could apply the defence of a country?

Fantastic update, great to know you folks are doing the coolest tech stuff on the planet…
Glad I was able to be part of the team during the first couple of years after contract award. We overcame some serious challenges, but there is no other land radar with this capability that is mobile like this. Congrats team!
Well done! If I say so myself
Impressive advancements, RTX! Enhancing sensitivity and expanding surveillance capacity will undoubtedly bolster defense capabilities.

1moMy time spent working on the AN/TPY-2 radars was a very proud time. I do kind of think of these radars as my "babies". Congrats to the whole team for this milestone, and hoping for many more!
