🌍 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬, 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 In vulnerable countries, local players often do not have sufficient capacity or financial ressources to act on their own. 🤝 These local Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) need to be supported financially and technically to implement community-led, long-term, sustainable impact initiatives. I am proud to be an #EvidenceAmbassador for the 2024 #WorldEBHCDay campaign. The World EBHC Day 2024 campaign, ‘Health and Beyond: from Evidence to Action’ aims to examine how the global evidence community can foster and embed equity within and across evidence ecosystems to advance global health equity. Our planet is reaching its social, economic, and ecological limits. Climate crises and ecological disasters, political conflict, global inflation/cost of living, and a pandemic, among other things, challenge the emerging responses for health and the healthcare goals of communities, countries, and global institutions. They are also challenging us to do better. Within the context of a polycrisis, the current global discourse related to evidence-based healthcare is being shaped by a recognition that we need greater intersectoral action ‘beyond health’. World EBHC Day in 2024 focuses on the need for greater intersectoral action beyond health to meet the challenges of a polycrisis and taking action across the evidence ecosystem to build momentum to move from a confluence of crises to a confluence of change.
