Because I help organizations with their employee engagement efforts, I attended the Detroit Economic Club luncheon yesterday discussing the Return to Office with Steelcase's Sara Armbruster and Rocket Companies' Bill Emerson. Very thought-provoking! Here are some of comments that struck a chord with me: - With newer hires, there is no shared memory of a company's workplace culture. They don't remember "before". Coming back to a shared work space helps foster new memories & reinforces culture. 🤔 - The argument for working remote is productivity; but it should not simply be measured by tasks accomplished. Importantly: how are you contributing to the company getting better? How are you strengthening the culture? ⁉ - What do we want people to do? CONNECT. Camaraderie and culture are part of the ecosystem and shared spaces help. Both panelists challenged leaders to question themselves, to reflect and be intentional, to re-engage in the corporate community. #Culture is not random and #rto is important to fostering that. #employeeengagement #brandedmerch
