At RBR-Technologies, our Holiday spirit shines brighter with giving back! This year we had an amazing time at our Holiday party, where we also had the privilege to support the incredible work of The Ed Reed Foundation.
At our holiday party, RBR capped off over $200,000 of 2023 local community support by donating $20,000 to The Ed Reed Foundation. The Ed Reed Foundation's mission of empowering at-risk youth through mentorship, leadership, and exposure resonates deeply with RBR’s core values.
A special thank you to Ed Reed for gracing our Holiday party, marking the start of what we hope will be a continued partnership filled with impact and growth.

"What would you want your startup organization’s mission to achieve—if only you had the funding? What would you want your philanthropic dollars to achieve—if only you had the right investment vehicle?
As nonprofit leaders, fundraisers, philanthropists, and funders, we know what lies at the heart and power of every organization: relationships. And one of the most compelling relationships is the relationship between a nonprofit’s founder and its first funder. In these early discussions between founder and funder, an organization’s vision, mission, and values start to take root—paving the way for transformational impact in our communities.
This series features successful nonprofit founders and their first funders sharing their respective experiences in conversation:
How did they first learn about their shared passion for the mission?
What was most important in establishing trust with each other?
What conversations were most critical throughout the process?
What advice would you give to nonprofit founders looking to fund their startup nonprofit?
What advice would you give to funders on how to maximize investment in a startup nonprofit?"
If this speaks to your work in the world, join us November 2 at 12:30 pm online!

🌟 Exciting times ahead in philanthropy! 🌟
The dust has barely settled from your nonprofit’s victorious year-end fundraising sprint, but guess what? The adventure continues! 🚀

The Power of Philanthropy Summit was a wonderful way to start a Friday!
I will be thinking about this discussion for a while, especially when it comes to Dr. Una Osili's research about American's perceptions of philanthropy and what that means for the nonprofit community. I also appreciated hearing from local community members of the nonprofit and philanthropic community.
A few high-level highlights:
💡 Americans love the idea of nonprofits and philanthropy - and trust nonprofits more than government or business - but most don't know much about the sector.
💡 Next gen donors - and the recipients of the great wealth transfer - are thinking about philanthropy very differently than previous generations have.
💡 It is - and always will be - all about relationships, though what those relationships look like will continue to evolve with technology.

Such an important 📽 message from Voice for Social Good. There is a lot of talk within the sector about shifting power, adaptive programming, and the power of unrestricted funding. But the reality is that many donors still only want to fund activities.
The fact is, that activities (especially those that have impact and create sustainable positive change) don't just happen. They require expert staff, facilities, tools and materials, support structures and much more. On top of that, for effective programming to create positive change, we need to research, generate evidence, co-create, advocate, learn, share, monitor and evaluate. We need to support staff and partner development, provide safe and positive working environments, and on top of that, we need to pay for all the audits to show you where the money is going. So please, share the message and help to spread the word on why full (and flexible) funding for civil society is essential to the successful work of non-profits everywhere. 🌟

A very simple way to explain why if you want for a donation to a non profit to have the biggest impact possible, it is important to not only fund direct program costs, but also those less visible costs that make it possible for the impact to happen.
Louderrrr for the people in the back 🙌🙌
This is an awesome campaign to share with those who criticise salaries of NGO staff and funding overheads 🙏
Of course the humanitarian sector has major inefficiencies and is incrementally improving, as any other sector, and is steeped in colonialism/elitism/systematic inequality in the way funding moves, as any other sector.
👉 That's why direct funding to local NGOs is so important 👈
But the point being that of course any organisation of people needs resources to deliver value. And that means resourced staff with contracts longer than each individual project, resourced space, equipment, research & improvement etc.
Its surprising how many donors still don't like to see a reasonable % overhead funding in a budget proposal.
So awesome to see those also investing where it counts 🙏 🔥

A very real challenge for non profits - funders not willing to fund our operational needs. This video explains why funding programme costs alone does not allow non profits to achieve the desired impact. If there are more enlightened funders and givers, we can create a better social service sector!
