📣 UPDATE: Effective May 1st, DZTE has removed the requirement to be a member of the American Cheese Society in order to apply for the Daphne Zepos Teaching Award (DZTA). After a few years of not requiring ACS membership during the pandemic, we reinstated it this year in order to align with the original vision and wishes of Daphne Zepos. Daphne loved the American Cheese Society’s mission. She believed that, with strength in numbers, the organization would have greater impact. Upon reflection and deep, thoughtful conversations, we decided that the right decision was to make applying to the DZTA have as few barriers as possible. However, this does not diminish Daphne’s request that the DZTA recipient be an @american_cheese_society member. Should the recipient of the DZTA not currently have an ACS membership through employment, the Daphne Zepos Teaching Endowment will purchase a membership for them. Furthermore, anyone who had purchased an individual membership for 2024 will be reimbursed after receiving the award. We hope that this allows ample time to make applying for this year’s #DZTA grant as accessible as possible. The application period for the $6800 DZTA closes on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Midnight. Help us spread the word! #daphnezeposteachingendowment #daphnezeposteachingaward #cheese #cheeselover #research #researcher #foodeducation #scholarships #scholarshipopportunities #foodtraveller #foodwriter #dairy

One of the perks of taking Joanne’s CMP class is that you can come back and take the class as many times as you want at no extra cost! Whether you have your CMP or not, all students are welcome to retake the class. Even if you took the class several years ago, you are still eligible to retake the class at no charge. To be eligible for this option, you must have previously attended a two or three-day face-to-face class or a 16-hour virtual class through Joanne's company. Classes held by other organizations where Joanne taught are not eligible. Examples of non-qualifying classes are MPI Global, IMEX or MPI Upstate New York, and MPI Indiana. If you are interested in taking Joanne’s next virtual CMP class this summer, click the following link to learn more or to register - https://lnkd.in/eQq_q3vp . . . #themeetguide #cmp #meetingsandevents #meetingprofs #eventprofs #miceindustry #eventplanners #hospitality #cmpclass #cmpprep #cmpexam

I never missed this conference during my 19 years as School Principal. Always interesting, informative and frequently challenging. I count myself lucky to have heard inspirational presentations from amazing educationalists over the years. Conference facilitates fantastic networking opportunities; it’s a wonderful space in which to find and spread time with your tribe! ( not to mention the social side which is good for the soul !) My advice- in a word “Go! “

If you're planning on attending the Canadian Association of Health Services and Policy Research conference this May and are a trainee, early career researcher or a more seasoned researcher - the CAHSPR Student Working Group (SWG) has some events planned you won't want to miss! The Great CAHSPR Networking Marathon Networking is supposed to be fun. But it can be intimidating! The SWG wants to take a bit of the uncertainty out of networking (while adding in some fun)! Meet new people, make new friends, and enter our draw to win the grand prize! Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of where you are in your training or career! Join us May 13th at 7:30pm at Prova Restaurant at the Delta Hotel for our Pre-Conference Meet and Greet! RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/gJbdsF-P Dragon's Den Event: CAHSPR's Student Working Group (SWG) is taking it up a notch this year with a new funding opportunity for trainees taking place right at the annual CAHSPR conference! WHAT IS GOING ON? The SWG is hosting a Dragons’ Den competition and awarding the top team with a $1,000 grant to conduct a small innovative project that fits the theme: informing accessible and equitable health systems in Canada. SIX teams will compete for the prize. WHO CAN GET INVOLVED? Teams can have up to a maximum of TWO trainees and ONE mentor. Trainees include: current graduate students, postdocs, early career researchers, and recent graduates outside academia (e.g., those who have graduated and taken up non-academic roles within the last five years). Mentors include: established researchers, leaders in non-academic positions (e.g., government, non-profit, corporate) related to health services and policy. WHEN IS THIS GOING ON? The competition will take place on May 14th from 3:30-4:45pm in-person at the CAHSPR conference. The trainee(s) MUST be available in-person at the conference to present. Mentors are encouraged to participate in-person but this is optional. PRESENTATIONS AND JUDGING: Presentations will be 3-minute pitches followed by up to 5 minutes of questions. At least 2 of the 3 minutes must be presented by the trainee(s) rather than the mentor. Pitches will be judged by three leaders in research and policy: Dr. Bryan Stirling Dr. Meredith Vanstone Dr. Jennifer Zelmer The average of judges' scores will be used to select the top team, who will win $1000 to put toward bringing their project to life. I'M INTERESTED! Please fill out the expression-of-interest form availablein the caption below by May 1, 2024. Proposals will be blind reviewed by members of the CAHSPR SWG and the six selected teams will be contacted via email by May 6, 2024. For any question at all - reach out to the swg@cashpr.ca.
