My views on an ANC-DA National Coalition: -Ideological differences: The ANC is a left-wing party with a strong socialist and African nationalist ideology, while the DA is a right-wing party with a liberal and individualist ideology. These differences might make it difficult to find common ground on key policy issues but not necessarily impossible. -Historical and political tensions: The ANC has historically been associated with the anti-apartheid movement, while the DA was formed in opposition to the ANC's dominance. These tensions would surely make it challenging for the two parties to work together effectively. -Lack of trust: The ANC and DA have had a history of mistrust and conflict, particularly during recent times. This lack of trust would make it difficult for the parties to work together on key issues. -Different policy priorities: The ANC has prioritized issues such as economic empowerment, social justice, and racial equality, while the DA has focused on issues such as economic growth, individual freedom, and constitutional reform. These different priorities would create tension and conflict within the coalition. -Difficulty in finding common ground on key issues: The ANC and DA have fundamentally different views on issues such as land reform, education, healthcare, and taxation. Finding common ground on these issues would be challenging, if not impossible. Given these challenges, it is unlikely that an ANC and DA national governmental coalition would be sustainable but, on the contrary, it might work as the ANC would now be held accountable by the official opposition for their actions.
