Plans have been submitted to build a 42-storey tower 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘷𝘦 a historic listed building in Birmingham. The design sees 80 Broad Street - an old orthopaedic hospital - maintained and the tower built above and around it. Examples of projects where new and old are intertwined in this way, can be seen in Australia and Canada. The developers of this proposal say it demonstrates a "distinctive and innovative approach" and allows for the retention and careful repurposing of a grade II-listed building while simultaneously creating a striking landmark tower.
