Mental Health Awareness Week - Day 2: Let's hear it for the exhausted women with many hands, carrying what's beyond their reach until they can't any longer. As a female leader and feminine executive coach, one of the key roles I play is to support women to let go of what isn't theirs to hold. The fight to be taken seriously still exists and women are under more pressure than ever. There is always a need to regulate her nervous system and teach her invaluable tools that will support her to thrive, create healthy boundaries and learn when, and how to say no. This story just doesn't get old and its happening to the higest level of women. These women have learned to be tough, to smile and ride things out. They are the ones you turn to when you need resolutions. And they need your support. Today is #BlueMonday, often considered the most depressing day of the year. We want to bring attention to a crucial issue – the impact of mental health on women's careers. According to our Canadian Household’s Perspective Report, 39% of women quit their jobs due to stress or burnout, compared to 25% of men. Without proper workplace support for women, burnout will persist, leading to more women exiting the workforce. It's essential to recognize that women's mental health is intricately tied to their professional journeys, with the constant juggle of personal and professional responsibilities. In light of Mental Health Awareness Week, does this stat shock you? 💭 93% of women say they have experienced mental health issues as a result of poor work-life balance. 43% of women said they have experienced symptoms of stress, anxiety, or burnout brought on by poor work-life balance and 54% said they frequently felt overwhelmed by their workload. The good news is, employers can play a positive role in supporting women in the workplace. 💜 Reduce Microaggressions  Women are twice as likely to be interrupted and hear comments on their emotional state. Women who experience microaggressions are much less likely to feel psychologically safe, which makes it harder to take risks, propose new ideas or raise concerns. 💜 Increase Flexibility at Work  Women who have the flexibility in the workplace have 15% better mental health, 19% better spiritual health, and 19% less exhaustion. 💜 Provide Tailored Support for Women Employers could ensure women have a voice in decision-making processes, provide health and wellness benefits that support women's health, and create safe working environments where women can speak openly about their health needs. #WWS #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

As a psychologist, I have had the privilege of working with many incredible women who balance their professional careers with personal responsibilities. The journey of a working woman is often filled with unique challenges that require immense strength and resilience. From navigating career ambitions and workplace dynamics to managing family responsibilities and personal well-being, working women frequently face psychological hurdles that are often overlooked. These challenges can manifest as stress, anxiety, and feelings of overwhelm, making it essential to acknowledge and address them. One key aspect is the pressure to excel in multiple roles—be it as a professional, a caregiver, or a partner. This balancing act can lead to emotional exhaustion and burnout if not managed with proper support and self-care strategies. Moreover, societal expectations and workplace biases can add layers of complexity, impacting a woman’s confidence and mental health. It’s crucial for workplaces to foster supportive environments that promote mental well-being and offer resources tailored to the unique needs of working women. To all the working women out there: your resilience is inspiring. Remember that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
