On May 28th, 2024, S&O IP Cambodia conducted a training session in Poipet City, joined by officials from the Cambodia General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) branches of Poipet and Banteay Mean Chey. The focus was on identifying counterfeit products and safeguarding intellectual property rights. Throughout the session, valuable insights were exchanged regarding counterfeit product identification, complemented by the GDCE officials sharing their intellectual property best practices. The collaborative dialogue delved into effective strategies for addressing counterfeiting in Cambodia and bolstering protection for brand owners' intellectual property rights. The officials expressed their gratitude for organizing the training, underscoring their readiness to collaborate with S&O IP and brand owners in combating counterfeiting and upholding intellectual property rights. They emphasized the importance of the event, confirmed they will hold internal training sessions, and look forward to receiving future training sessions. The final text will be published within six months if there are no objections from contracting States. Among the changes proposed with ADR 2025, there is the introduction of 11 new UN numbers in Table A of Chapter 3.2. Companies involved in the transport of dangerous goods will have to comply with the new provisions and it will be essential to provide training for workers about the new changes. ⚠ ☣ These changes represent a significant step forward in the area of dangerous goods transport safety, reflecting UNECE's ongoing commitment to improving regulations in response to new technological challenges.
