So many of us are embroiled in a fight - for justice, for equality, for visibility... and fighting is hard and it's worthy. - BUT - What happens if we win? Torrie Weiston-Serdan from Youth Mentoring Action Network points out that sometimes we get so wrapped up in the fight, so invested in being right and winning that we haven't invested enough in what comes next. Think about that. If we focus solely on abolishing unfair systems but don't dream and innovate so that we can implement next steps once those systems are gone... do we really win? Take the time to dream and to work on what that looks like. What comes next after we win? This is where real innovation is needed. #EqualityMatters #FightForChange #BeyondTheFight

Thus video below is quite interesting. It explains how coloured were intentionally disadvantaged by creating an economic ecosystem that made it almost impossible to do well economically. While I don't encourage lamentations and pity parties, it's important to understand that it's not because coloured people are less smart that most of them appear to be poor, but because some people (not all) of other races have chosen to be selfish. History has however shown that tyranny always comes to an end, and that kindness and fair play are always a better option for all as they lead to shared prosperity, peace and consequently, Sustainability. As we seek a more sustainable world and to address climate change issues, we must always remember that justice and fair play, are the fundamentals that accelerate the achievement of both goals #justice #fairplay #sharedprosperity

🌍 Continuing the Work of Justice and Equality As we approach the upcoming election, it’s vital to remember that our responsibility doesn’t end with casting our votes. Regardless of the outcome, we have essential work to do to create a country and a world that works for all of us. Since 2021, I have been sharing the 4 Disciplines of Ecologically Sound Social Justice, a curriculum designed to provide tools for becoming a cooperative component in the creation of systems that promote equality and justice. This program spans at least 12 months and offers practices that are crucial in the days to come. We must ask ourselves: Are we complacent when events unfold that don’t directly impact us? Are we silent in the face of daily injustices and inequalities? The power to move forward requires us to anchor ourselves in our values and act with integrity. As we embark on this journey, let us keep our goals at the forefront of our minds, hearts and actions, and remain disciplined in our pursuit of the world we envision. Collaboration and commitment are essential to co-creating the change we seek. I invite you to watch this brief overview of the curriculum linked below. Together, let’s engage in this vital work of transformation and support each other in our mission for justice and equity. https://lnkd.in/eUTpHJ5X #SocialJustice #Equality #Collaboration #Leadership #CivicEngagement #4Disciplines #Empowerment #Community

As we commemorate June 16th 2024, may we all reflect on the significance of this day and commit to making a tangible difference in the ongoing struggle for liberation and equality. Let us approach this year differently by becoming more aware of our roles and actively participating in the continuous effort to liberate our minds. This, in turn, will help us authentically honour the legacy of those who fought before us and continue to push for a more just and equitable world. #CommemorateJune16 #LiberateYourMind

This is how we work. A reflection of our feminist engagement vs management.
Facilitating women's empowerment | Transforming communities | Advocating for rights | 34 years of activism for dignity, equality and justice
In a world where traditional management often prioritizes control and hierarchy, WOREC stands as a flagbearer for feminist engagement—where the focus is on empowerment, collaboration, and breaking the chains of structural inequality. Feminist engagement at WOREC isn’t just a methodology; it’s a transformative force that challenges the status quo, dismantles oppressive systems, and rebuilds them on the foundation of equity and justice. https://lnkd.in/g9cyfyX8

As we celebrate the #4thOfJuly and the principles of independence, it's a poignant moment to reflect on our journey towards achieving true equity and equality of opportunity and participation for all in this country. The Declaration of Independence boldly states that "all men are created equal," yet we recognize that realizing this vision requires continuous effort and commitment. Building a more equitable society demands that we confront and remove systemic barriers and advocate for justice in all its forms. It requires us to empower historically marginalized communities, address disparities in education, healthcare, and economic opportunity, and foster inclusive policies that promote fairness and dignity for all. At this pivotal juncture in our fragile democracy, let's reaffirm our commitment to creating a future filled with hope where every individual has equal access to opportunities and rights. COURAGE Must Not Skip This Generation! #July4 #IndependenceDay #Equity #Equality #Justice #Freedom #4All
