Pet metrics # 1 Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV): The magic sauce in every pet business' success. #CLTV is basically the sum total of all the revenue a business can generate from a customer, throughout that customer's lifetime with them. At the core of CLTV, lies one factor - how long does a customer stick around with you? And when it comes to the pet industry, brand royalty REALLY exists - seen even more with services than with products. Pet services like #vets, #groomers, and #pethostels perhaps see the highest CLTV amongst all industry players. They enjoy customer relationships that last 6-8 years on average. Very often the entire lifespan of the pet, about 12 years. And in exceptional cases, the entire lifetime of the same family's second pet, taking that relationship to well over 20 years. Just a few benefits of having a great CLTV are: 1. Higher revenues per customer 2. More word-of-mouth referrals (still the largest lead generator for pet service businesses) 3.
