The Untold Story of How Ackeino Grant Turned Ice Cream Idea into a Social Phenomenon Ackeino wanted to launch his first startup. He had a dream of starting an ice cream business. Being jobless, he decided to initiate something that could yield quick cash. We sat down at Burger King one day and he shared the idea. However, with numerous ice cream shops around, ranging from individuals with igloo attachments to boutique shops with multiple franchises, I pondered, "How can we transform ordinary ice cream into something entirely different and unexpected?" Within less than 6 months, Ackeino became the talk of his community, transitioning from a mere idea to partnering with top event organizers. He revolutionized how people enjoy ice cream by launching the first-ever street dance in Jamaica, which brought the community together around delectable treats. Where have you ever heard of street dance in Jamaica around ice cream? Unheard of, right? And this wasn't a one-time thing. He repeated this month after month until it became overwhelming, prompting him to pause due to the inability to handle so much attention. Top event organizers took notice of this ice cream maverick. They observed what he created and desired to be part of the action. Ackeino, always ready for a challenge, collaborated with them to elevate his ice cream revolution to the next level. Consequently, he established connections with several regional top event organisers who began reaching out to him for partnerships. The last time I spoke to the owner, he now has well over 10 partners. Amazing, right? He mentioned having to terminate some partnerships due to conflicting business approaches, but he now enjoys working with around 15 solid partners. As Ackeino Grant's journey proves, with determination, innovation, and a sprinkle of creativity, any dream can become a reality. Are you ready to turn your business idea into a success story like Ackeino's? Join our free workshop to learn the proven formula big brands use to launch their game-changing ideas, driving billions in sales. Empowering professionals to build personal brands & create high-impact content with AI. Co-Founder & CMO of Scripe | Keynote Speaker I Sigma Squared
munich here we go again, I can’t wait to join this edition’s FOUNDERS LEAGUE! 🚀🙌 with the first big event of the year around the corner: here’s how I maintain a balance between networking and actually working on our product. 🙋♀️ hands up to whoever can relate: 100 to-dos are waiting, but then there's this event that you don't want to miss. yes, sometimes I wish I could be in two (or three) places all at once. attending the Founders League is the perfect example of how I choose my participation at conferences and networking happenings. before an event, I ask myself the following questions: 1) are the right people there? 👉 Yes. The founders Marcus Diekmann, Johannes Kliesch, Benjamin Diedering, and Julian Rauch always manage to gather amazing founders, experienced entrepreneurs, and investors for each edition, creating value for everyone. 2) what added value will the event bring me? 👉 learning from masterclasses and panel talks that are super relevant to our current stage at Scripe. 3) what are my top 3 goals for the event? 👉 soak up as much knowledge and new inspiration as possible (which I can hopefully also share here). 👉 connect with new people and have conversations with other founders, sharing experiences and creating possible synergies. 👉 get in touch with potential beta users and partners. above all, I learned that the most important thing when attending an event is to BE PRESENT – not thinking too much about the other 100 to-dos. I am convinced that this is the only way you can truly benefit and soak up all the value. plus, it’s more fun. :) I'm looking super forward to an exciting program filled with masterclasses and speakers such as Diana Zur Löwen, Denys Lichtenstein and Sven Rittau. who is in Munich and is joining Founders League on February 7th too? let me know & let's meet for a coffee - or more ;) p.s. the last tickets are still available, better be quick! and if you cannot make it to this edition, I can only recommend checking out the resources from The Founders League online – there’s even a live stream. 🥳 on their platform, you can also find other resources such as their academy and podcast. now back to deep work before heading into event mode on Wednesday! #foundersleague #startups #events #networking

Founder of GenZtea | Top LinkedIn Voice for Next Gen| Founder of The Group Chat Queen| Talks about how to build a global 🌏 personal brand
I went from moving to NYC in May to hosting a paid & 2x sponsored event in less than 3 months. Here are 10 of some of my minimum effort tips from a Gen Z lens⤵️ 1. Have hundreds of virtual coffee chats with people in the industry + city you want to move to instead of watching tv. Tip: Can turn into podcast 2. Attend at least 1 event per week & take videos + photos to post about it. 3. Get to know event hosts by creating an events newsletter & tag them on socials. 4. Reach out to event hosts via LinkedIn connect request w/ note to have a brief coffee chat. 5. Ask for tips on how to host good events + free venues. 6. Watch videos from other event host events for ideas. 7. Become a super-connector. 8. Have your coffee chats be memorable and unique by adding visuals. 9. Post actively on LinkedIn to stay top-of-mind. 10. Feature others work on your socials. Cool, you’re now an expert event host. And not just any ideas. Validated ones. #startup #entrepreneurship #venturecapital ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Photo Credits: Simon Zheng, who attended my 1st event in NYC

Finance + Computing & Data Science @ NYU Stern School of Business | Associate of Public Speaking with Distinction @ Trinity College London
In my continuous efforts to expand Washington Square News’ business and technology coverage, I’m thrilled to have reported on Flite — an event planning startup run by some very passionate NYU students and alumni (Suvir Wadhwa, Rahul Surana, Kanay Jay Shah and Jasmeet Sahota). It’s incredible to see student startups like Flite flourish, especially with the backing of angel investors like Jason Calacanis and seasoned entrepreneurs as mentors like Andrew Boryk. “In February 2024, Flite began participating in the San Francisco-based LAUNCH Accelerator and secured $100,000 of seed funding from founder Jason Calacanis, a top internet entrepreneur and angel investor. Through LAUNCH, Calacanis has backed over 300 technology companies like Uber, Robinhood and Calm. His support kicked off tremendous exposure for Flite’s endeavors. “He has been very, very helpful. He’s a smart guy who always has the answer to everything, no matter what you bring in,” Surana said. “Having somebody like that in your corner is amazing. Ever since then, we’ve secured checks from other investors and even got $10,000 last week.” Flite also been able to grow with the help of advisors like Andrew Boryk, a Forbes “30 Under 30” entrepreneur who has raised over $70 million across several portfolio companies. Guidance from mentors like Boryk has been instrumental to Flite’s expansion, especially when overcoming roadblocks. “We went to a couple of tech mixers in November just trying to meet people in the startup ecosystem,” Surana said. “When we met Andrew Boryk, we were in a bit of a mental block and he was willing to set up a call with us to get us back on track. He has bet on us, not just our startup. He thinks that it’s the people who are the reason why he believes in a startup so much.”” Read more of my article here: https://lnkd.in/eJ8c_G7f #nyunews #flite #techstartup
Articles like this really reinforce what entrepreneurship is all about. Founders helping founders. This community has given so much to us all, and its our responsibility to give back into it. To help every next founder to learn, grow, and achieve. Shoutout to the crew over at Flite! The event hosting space has been stagnant and messy for so long. It’s ripe for the disruption that Flite brings: to make hosting events efficient and accessible for anyone. Suvir Wadhwa and Rahul Surana, it’s a privilege to play my part in advising you on your journey to fulfill such a necessary mission. Keep on crushing it! 🤘 https://lnkd.in/edV-8EJF

CEO - GraffersID | Offshore Development Center | Trusted by startups in YC | Techstars | Harvard | Google | Coca-Cola | Hire Remote Developers on Contract in 1 day
First Event: Actively shook hands, smiled, and stood in the crowd. NETWORK 0 😞 2nd Event: Made a few initiatives to which no one responded. NETWORK 0 3rd Event: Standing alone in a corner, I knew the faces but no one would talk. NETWORK STILL 0 😢 FAILING, It felt extremely frustrating. I knew networking was important but I couldn't form relations if no one wanted to talk to me. 😒 I was 22 when I entered entrepreneurship. I don't know if it was my age, lack of experience, attire, or whatever. But going to events was very demotivating. I had enough, I wouldn't take no for an answer anymore. I went to my next event with a game plan: 🎯 - Found 5 people who were attending the event/who frequently attended, - Researched thoroughly about them to know the latest updates on their company, their likes, dislikes, mutual connects, etc. - Practiced my intro in front of the camera and family (embarrassing to admit)😅 - Prepared open-ended questions/topics in case there is an awkward silence - Stuck like a leech to the 5 people I researched. - Meet the most well-connected person before the event. Guess what NETWORK: 7 People 🏆 No more standing alone. In the next event I met these guys again and this time I started from 7 and grew further. 💪🏼 What I realized was it is not about how many people you meet, it is about how many valuable connections you formed. Next time you go to event try making a strong group instead of getting to know everyone. Once you have a group then get to know everyone. 😊 NETWORK is your NETWORTH. 💰 Happy Entrepreneuring !! 🚀 P.S.: The photo is not the first event but a similar event and I made some dear friends. How do you network ? #startup #entrepreneurship #meetups #events #networking #network #friends #entrepreneur

Sometimes what you end up with is not what you had planned. During our last Apogee meetup the theme we asked presenters to focus on was 𝘼𝙣 𝙊𝙗𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙡𝙚 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙃𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙊𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 to launch their project. We shared the theme with our presenters, discussed the importance of the theme, brainstormed ideas with them about the theme and even helped them prepare their 5 min talks on the theme. And although every single talk launched off from that theme, not a single one landed there. Instead every single talk moved quickly from the obstacle to highlighting someone who supported them in getting their “dream” off the ground and out into the world. It was actually kind of fascinating. And yet, not very surprising. 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 🚀 𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Apogee’s aren’t reached without the help of caring and supportive relationships that encourage, guide and sometimes carry you through, around and over, the internal and external obstacles that stand between you and the successful launch of your dream. One of our hopes with the Apogee meetups is that they’d serve as a connection point for people who want to launch something but don’t have and are looking for a supportive relationship. We want to create a space for those who need support and those who can be a support. We want to create a space for connections that enrich our work, open doors, and allow us to endeavor together as a community. If you’re looking for this, and you’re in the #hamptonroads area, please join us on 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝟕𝐏𝐌 𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐩𝐮𝐛 - down at the oceanfront. And if you’re in another part of the country and want to help launch an Apogee storytelling meetup in your community, please reach out. #creatives #innovators #entrepreneurs

I'm on a mission to help 2000 San Diegans leave their caves and get into the tech and entrepreneurship community
These were the top clicked events in The Social Coyote newsletter last week: 🐺 North County SD Startup Mixer - I attended this one! two paws way up 🐾 for Hussein Yahfoufi's mixers. Thanks for continuing to get us all together. The traction is very impressive and says 2 things: - simple is quite effective - North County loves to gather! 🐺 Techstars SDSU Startup Community Happy Hour - I wasn't able to attend, but I heard this event was PACKED with founders (packed I tell you) and I love seeing events at Launch Factory too. If you know a company or are a founder looking for support ping Misti Cain or Ryan Kuder with Techstars San Diego powered by San Diego State University 🐺 Founder FunDays - The first of many (hopefully) hosted by Dane Zink!! A few things I love about this event: - It's simple - Fridays are an underserved day of the week to meet up - who doesn't love Balboa Park? 🐺 SD DEVx Weekend Function - The idea is simple: Devs fostering community and sharing knowledge on weekends. This event was hosted at Edge. Seems like Edge is 1/2 event space and 1/2 secure crypto wallet these days. Kidding, but I LOVE how they take in founders and event organizers. Oh and Sunday is perhaps the least capitalized day in the tech event scene. Madison Paiement, Paul Puey (will you tag the founders for me?) 🐺 SDx: AI Coffee (rebrand? Love it!) - Nice rebrand Chad Lohrli! SDx is really making a name for themselves in the AI space and quickly securing meaningful partnerships in the community. It's awesome to see them hosting even more events (but I miss pickleball - maybe team up with Zach Stevens crew? Just an idea). What a week! You could spend all your time attending meaningful events. I'm working on coyote time travel to attend even more but it's not ready yet. Howl yeah, let's meet someone new this week! This is only a sampling of the meaningful happenings in San Diego! For the full list, check out the Social Coyote. I send it every Monday morning to start the week: howl.thesocialcoyote.com We howl, never bite
