It’s happening in every sport, in nearly every market, at every level: to help finance a new stadium or arena and increase revenue, professional sports teams—and some colleges—are developing mixed-use commercial real estate districts around their venues and maintaining ownership in the assets, a concept known as stadium anchored mixed use development.
