What do we lose (and gain) with less in-person care? Prof. Lisa Wickerson discusses her research on hybrid rehabilitation programs in the latest UofTMedMagazine: The Touch Issue. “There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. We need different pathways for people based on their functional capabilities and medical status, in terms of what kinds of alerts, reminders and supervision they may need during preparation or recovery,” she says. https://lnkd.in/gvYsNZKT

It has been such a thrill to join the SCCM Texas Chapter in their symposium for this presentation with THE Jenna Hightower. It is so exciting to see Society of Critical Care Medicine shifting the focus towards Awake and Walking ICUs. There were presentations on: - What full compliance with the ABCDEF bundle looks like in an Awake and Walking ICU - Verticalization therapy - Avoiding sedation to prevent and treat ventilator asychrony - Early mobility in an oncology ICU - OT role in leading early mobility in the ICU I love seeing these topics being prioritized with all of the other life-saving interventions in the ICU. Vive la revolución!! #abcdefbundle #sccm #awakeandwalkingicu #evidencebasedmedicine #earlymobility #icurevolution #verticalizationtherapy #icudelirium #intensivists #ventilator #texas

🌟 **Everlight Radiology Partnering to Transform Patient Care** 🌟 At Everlight Radiology, we understand the critical importance of timely diagnoses and the profound impact that scan delays can have on patients and their families. Recent developments from the Shrewsbury & Telford Hospital NHS Trust demonstrate a path forward in tackling the persistent backlogs. By outsourcing radiology reporting to our expert teams in Australia, they have successfully reduced CT scan result wait times from three months to just two weeks by Christmas. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the power of collaboration in healthcare. 📉 **The Challenge**: With over 4,000 patients in Shropshire waiting longer than the government's four-week target for scan results, the urgency for effective solutions has never been clearer. As the article states - Patients like Nigel Bickley, who rely on regular monitoring for serious health conditions, illustrate the human side of these statistics. 🔗 **Our Role**: Everlight radiology is committed to supporting healthcare trusts in managing demand and enhancing efficiency. Our remote radiology services are designed to help clear backlogs and accelerate acute turnaround times, enabling trusts to focus on what matters most—patient care. 🤝 **Let’s Collaborate**: We invite healthcare trusts to partner with us in this endeavor. Together, we can innovate and streamline radiology workflows, ensuring that no patient has to endure the stress of prolonged waiting times. If you’re interested in enhancing your trust's services and exploring how we can work together to improve patient outcomes, please get in touch with me. We’re eager to discuss how our tailored solutions can meet your specific needs.
We work hard to support our partner hospitals and healthcare providers with managing the increasing demand for scans, particularly over the winter periods in the UK. One of our partners, Shrewsbury & Telford NHS Trust, shared how they are working with Everlight to reduce wait times and improve patient care: https://hubs.la/Q030vrxf0 Our UKI/MEA CEO Daniel Sourial said: “We’re proud to support the Shrewsbury & Telford NHS Trust, along with many other NHS hospitals, in reducing CT and MRI reporting wait times. By providing specialist radiology reporting from the UK and beyond, we’re helping deliver faster results and improving care for patients and their families.”

Hertfordshire stroke patients receive faster care via FaceTime - Digital Health Innovative healthcare solutions are transforming stroke care in Hertfordshire! The introduction of a remote video assessment system using FaceTime at Watford General Hospital has significantly improved patient outcomes. In its first year, over 170 patients benefited, with a 17-minute reduction in treatment time for clot-busting medication. This nurse-led triage allows specialists to prepare for patients before arrival, ensuring timely imaging and treatment. As other trusts, like Hull University and Royal Papworth, explore similar technologies, the future of stroke care looks promising. #HealthcareIT #Telemedicine #StrokeCare #PatientOutcomes #InnovationInHealthcare #NHS #DigitalHealth ai.mediformatica.com #stroke #hospital #video #patients #triage #videotriage #ambulance #strokepatients #trust #nhstrust #launch #watfordgeneralhospital #digitalhealth #healthit #healthtech #healthcaretechnology @MediFormatica (https://buff.ly/40UeQ16)

ViPHS (Video support in the PreHospital acute Stroke chain); Our first paper on this telemedicine solution to enable faster thrombectomy has now been published. ViPHS enables more equal care as even those who do not live near thrombectomy centers, typically University Hospitals, are now given a better opportunity for faster optimal care. This can be of vital importance for the individual patient, e.g. in terms of outcomes and lifelong functional disorders. Professor Lars Rosengren and I took the initiative together for ViPHS in 2015 and soon the core of people behind the published paper was established. The paper presents the work with prototype and full-scale care simulations incl. ambulance, consultation and realistic patient cases (actors). The following parties were involved in the work: Chalmers Univ. of Technology, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Sahlgrenska Academy, PICTA, Prehospen at University of Borås, Sjukvårdens Larmcentral in Region Västra Götaland (prio and dispatch), Ambulance service at SU and Ambulance service in Södra Älvsborg Hospital. The ViPHS project is currently being run by the Region Västra Götaland as part of their "Digitalization" initiative. The paper is available here: https://lnkd.in/dGFGu-CN #telemedicine #stroke #video #digital_health #trombectomy #eHealth #NHISS #videostreaming
