Experiment of the day - refining rough animations from Unreal Engine with Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI I've seen quite a few CG workflows lately that involve taking rough playblasts from 3D software and using AI to texture them, so I wanted to give it a go and see what works and what doesn't. I took the base walking animation from Unreal Engine's third person character and used a basic VDB sim from JangaFX's EmberGen in the background, emulating that classic trope of 'Cool character walking away from an explosion'. I then brought that rough animation into ComfyUI and, after a lot of trial and error 😅 managed to get something half-way decent. Its fiddly, but I can see the appeal - especially considering how easy it is to create rough animations in another software like Unreal Engine or After Effects and then rely on AI to jazz it up. I'm not sure how it would handle more complicated camera movements, but more to test. Has anyone else tried this workflow and gotten better results? #animation #generativeart #aiart #unrealengine #motiongraphics

Forward-Face Locomotion in Unreal Engine 5 Rig, retarget and animations are done in Maya For this character I created a rig then retargeted rough motion capture data (mostly cycle animations). After changed animations for better feeling in the engine, created various keyframe animations such as starts (for all directions) and stops, for different movement state and type (armed and unarmed). Added additive poses for lean and acceleration. In total for this locomotion system I used 50 animations and about 12 additive poses. During development animations might be changed and polished, btw.
