The perfect team right?! Have you seen the stunning Netherlands entry to this year's #WorldOfDance? It's been on my mind for quite a few weeks now and countless views of it (you're welcome if you've not seen it yet) 💃🕺 I've been captivated by it for so many reasons! This performance not only showcases the talent of the individuals but also highlights the company and the choreographer (manager) who have all worked to such a high standard. Their effort has elevated them on the world stage, capturing attention both inside and outside of the dance world. But what can we take from it here on LinkedIn? It made me think of the magic ingredients to the perfect team. 🧙♂️ 💃 Creativity: Encouraging innovative ideas and approaches. 🕺 Talent: Recognising and nurturing individual strengths. 💃 Daring to Be Different: Embracing unique perspectives and methods. 🕺 Discipline: Maintaining high standards and consistent effort. 💃 Consistency: Delivering reliable performance over time. 🕺 Fun: Keeping the environment enjoyable and engaging. 💃 Celebrating Each Team Member: Valuing each person's contributions. 🕺 Self-Expression: Allowing team members to express their individuality. 💃 Accountability: Allowing personal responsibility for their performance. These elements have created a dynamic and effective team and I think it's something we can translate into business practices. If I've missed something it's made you think of (each person will likely see different things, that's the beauty of the creative arts) then please comment below, otherwise take a moment out to enjoy! #TeamBuilding #Leadership #WorldOfDance #Innovation #BusinessGrowth https://lnkd.in/eNNfg2iz

If you’ve ever watched Boney M perform, you’ll know their dance moves weren’t just steps—they were storytelling in motion. With hits like Rasputin and Daddy Cool, their energetic choreography brought people together, sparking joy and connection wherever they performed. But there’s something deeper here. Boney M’s moves teach us more than rhythm—they teach us leadership: 1. The Arm Roll (Team Energy) The iconic arm roll isn’t just a move—it’s about momentum. In leadership, like in dance, momentum builds energy. It’s about creating a rhythm that energizes your team and keeps them moving toward shared goals. 2. The Hip Sway (Flexibility) Their effortless hip sway reminds us that flexibility is essential. Whether it’s adjusting to challenges or adapting to a new beat, great leaders know how to pivot with grace. 3. The Point and Step (Vision) Pointing upward, Boney M showed us where the energy should go. As leaders, it’s about pointing your team toward the future, setting a clear vision, and stepping forward confidently. 4. The Group Circle (Collaboration) Dancing in a circle wasn’t just fun; it symbolized unity. Leadership thrives on collaboration, creating spaces where everyone feels they can shine and contribute. Watching Boney M reminds us that great leadership, like great dance, isn’t about perfection—it’s about connection, rhythm, and the ability to bring people together with purpose and joy. What’s a moment of creativity or inspiration that has taught you something about leadership? #LeadershipLessons #CreativityInMotion #BoneyMInspired #TeamworkAndRhythm https://lnkd.in/gFMPaS56

𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐈𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭: 𝐀 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐫 Maybe, I thought, I’m simply not cut out for this.... When I was younger, I had ballet and tap lessons, and as part of the yearly pantomime, we, as butterflies, had to go onto the stage, do our thing, so that the actors who had a quick change, had time. After the performance, I stood there rooted to the stage, mortified that I didn’t get an applause- NOTHING for 7 straight nights. 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝, 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐝. But here's 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 I learned: the applause wasn't the point. 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠, is like performing. It's not about craving validation, 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞. No matter the initial response, you can learn to dance to your own rhythm, just like a seasoned performer. 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡. The stage is yours, ready for your unique performance. So ditch the fear and step into the spotlight. It's show-time! ✨. ✨ Like, Share, and comment your thoughts on this. #overcomethefearofpublicspeaking #publicspeakingtips #mindset #introvert #ambivert

What a night! ✨ Last Monday, we enjoyed visiting the 15th International Circus Festival YOUNG STAGE Basel. 634 artists from 57 nations applied to participate in this great event, but only a few made it through the election process. 🤹♀️ The 13 Circus acts that made it there, from all over the world, were #Performing a show with as much energy as you can only do if you dedicate your life to a personal pursuit. 🎯 The show was under the motto of “Innovative between modernity and tradition.” As we were watching the show, we were all stunned and got sucked into a world of fascination and disbelief of the achievable for the human body. 🤸♀️ After the show, after we gained some distance, we were able to look at it from a very different perspective. 👀 The performances we saw were neither traditional (well-known) nor revolutionary (something you have never seen before). Mostly, it was traditional disciplines performed in a modern way full of surprises. This again gave us insight into how innovation is still based on #tradition. The artists started with traditional disciplines and discovered new ways through their creativity. 🎨 So, what we saw at the Young stage made us think about business transformations. When transforming a business, we can preserve traditions and still be #innovative by finding new ways to incorporate them into our strategies. Before embarking on a #transformation journey, it's important to consider what traditions we want to keep alive and what can be done in a new way while still respecting the past. 🍂 And what is the key to a successful transformation towards an innovative corporation? Successful transformations require collaboration and input from all parties involved, just like the performers who put on the spectacular circus acts. Traditional structures can be adapted, remodeled, and rethought to create something innovative and exciting. Let's take inspiration from the circus performers and find new ways to incorporate tradition into our transformation journeys. 👣 We will explore in more detail the subject Transformation and Renewal over the next few posts. Stay tuned. 😀 #YoungStageBasel

I'm TELLING YOU - Leadership and creativity go hand in hand <3 Here’s a piece of choreography I created and filmed on a dancer in just 15 minutes. It was an exercise in trusting my instincts, communicating clearly, and adapting quickly—all qualities I strive to bring into my work as a dance educator and trainer. Dance isn’t just about movement; it’s about problem-solving, connection, and staying present under pressure—skills that translate far beyond the studio. How do you integrate creativity and adaptability into your work? Let’s discuss in the comments! #LeadershipThroughMovement #CreativeLeadership #Adaptability #ChoreographyInAction #DanceAndLeadership

Leadership thoughts and inspiration from the...circus? 🎪 💡 Our family recently attended the dazzling Winter Circus in Helsinki. It's become an annual tradition and we look forward to it every year. This year’s show, Winter Circus Fantasia, is a modern, animal-free circus put on by Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth. Simply put, it's 2 hours of pure entertainment with amazing performances by extremely talented artists, dancers and acrobats. One of the best parts is the fun atmosphere created by the live circus orchestra. During the previous work week, we had talked a lot about leadership, partnership and teamwork on many different occasions. Perhaps that's why as I sat there in my seat in the 2nd row, I kept noticing parallels between what was happening on stage and what we want to see happen at work: ✨ Teamwork: No one is acting alone. Even the solo performers have a team of people behind the scenes supporting them. ✨ Clear roles and responsibilities: During every act, each performer has a clear role and knows how they are contributing to the end result. ✨ Capabilities: There are different jobs to be done in every act. With less than 15 people in the show, rotation is a must. Performers leverage different capabilities throughout the show, depending on what's needed. ✨ Plan & adapt: It's clear that a lot of planning and preparation goes into the show. But when the juggler drops her 8th club? No problem; her partner picks it up for her, puts it back in rotation and they try again. They adapt to what’s happening in the moment. ✨ Develop: No one becomes a circus performer in a day. It’s safe to say it’s taken them years to get where they are. Put in the hard work, train, build your muscles. Get a little bit better every day. ✨ Recovery: There's an intermission for a reason. For those in Finland, a warm recommendation for Winter Circus 2025 / 2026! Take a few hours to be entertained and who knows, maybe get inspired, too ✨

Want to make sure your ideas land every time? Here’s how to communicate so anyone can understand. I recently caught up with Beth Freedman (she/her), and for those who know her, you’ll know she’s an expert at using analogies to simplify complex ideas - especially using sports analogies. ⚽🏀🏅 We’ve all been there—explaining something important, only to see blank faces or confusion. The key isn’t to keep repeating yourself but to change the way you explain it. That’s where analogies can be a game changer. Next time you’re struggling to get your point across, try relating it to something the other person understands—whether it’s football, ballet, or even hula hooping. By using familiar examples, you’ll make your ideas clearer, more relatable, and easier to grasp. 🗣️ It’s a simple way to communicate better and get results faster. Thanks Beth, for always being a superstar and an inspiration 🙌 What’s the best analogy you’ve ever used to explain something? Or the best analogy you've heard from Beth? Drop it in the comments! 👇 #CommunicationSkills #Leadership #ProblemSolving #Analogies #Inspiration
