Helping managers boost productivity and revenue by harnessing the power of psychological safety | Empower. Thrive. Succeed.

“I spend so much time supporting my employees with anything that’s bothering them, but they still don’t pull their weight and take multiple coffee breaks each day.” Creating an open atmosphere is crucial, but what happens when you feel taken advantage of by your team? That has to sting. But supporting employees with their wellbeing will not translate into higher productivity if job expectations are hazy. Just as you feel secure when your boss outlines your tasks, your team benefits from clarity. If you can’t be honest about what you expect of your team and when, the results might not align with your efforts. Channel your care into providing clear expectations and watch the results unfold as everyone thrives. P.S. Liked these ideas? Repost to help others grow ♻️

I think I'd have to ask more questions about this statement to whoever said this. Have they any thoughts as to the reason why they were taking lots of breaks. Nothing is ever cut and dry - there is usually a reason behind it. But maybe I'm more curious 🤔

As a leader, you are there to support your team, empathize with them, and take care of them. But ultimately, in a professional environment, there is also an expectation to deliver. Yes, we can drop the ball once in a while, but we never should forget that we are paid to get a job done. Finding the balance between understanding and facilitating personal needs with business needs has a fine line. Be clear on what that line is.

This is a great point Rebecca R Gold To get the best out of our team requires support but also a clear expectation of what their goals are.

I like it, act like a leader and analyse the results of your communicated expectations so that you can tune up them later.

This is so true. Working in large organisations this is often missed and causes lots of confusion
