In fact, this was ranked the least helpful activity brands can do to support Juneteenth. ▪ Since Juneteenth was recognized as a national holiday, way more Black Americans have started participating in cultural celebrations for Juneteenth—more proof that representation and acknowledgment matters. If you're looking for ways you and your teams can support, these insights really show where your actions, empathy, and energy can make a big difference. Happy Freedom Day 🎉

🌟 Celebrating Black History Month: A Journey into Understanding 📚 As we immerse ourselves in the richness of Black History Month, I find myself reflecting on the profound impact of Isabel Wilkerson's "The Warmth of Other Suns." The echoes of Richard Wright's words in "Black Boy" resonate deeply: “I was leaving the South to fling myself into the unknown… to see if it could grow differently, if it could drink of new and cool rains, bend in strange winds, respond to the warmth of other suns and, perhaps, to bloom.” Growing up in the privileged backdrop of the north, my recent exploration into Wilkerson's work has been a revelation, a conscious effort to 'fling myself into the unknown.' A recent encounter with the movie "Origin," based on Wilkerson's life, stirred memories of past readings and experiences, and left me awe-struck. In revisiting classics like "Black Boy" and "Native Son" by Richard Wright, "Song of Solomon" by Toni Morrison, "The Nickel Boys" by Colson Whitehead, and more, I am compelled to ask, "What have I been missing?" Wilkerson's masterpiece, with its personal narratives and data-driven exploration, transcends individual stories. It unveils the larger tapestry of America's Great Migration, inviting us to witness history at 35,000 feet. Wilkerson's blend of personal narratives and evidence-based data creates a dynamic understanding of the human condition. Her latest work, "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents," promises to be another enlightening journey. As I continue on this journey of knowledge, I encourage everyone to reflect on their own journeys. Where have you been? Where are you now? Where are you going? Let's embrace a commitment to lifelong learning, challenging ourselves to bend in strange winds, respond to the warmth of other suns—cultures, perspectives, and the complexities of human nature. Knowledge is the compass guiding us through the unknown, urging us to bloom in the diverse garden of understanding. 🌍📖 #BlackHistoryMonth #LifelongLearning #UnderstandingOurWorld
