📚Book recommendation alert 📚 Excited to share a captivating exploration of technology's impact on society! Just completed "Tools and Weapons" by Brad Smith (Microsoft President and vice chair) and Carol Ann Browne, and it's a real eye-opener into the complexities of our digital era. In this book, Smith and Browne skillfully navigate the intricate relationship between technology and society, diving into both its empowering potential and the cautionary tales of its misuse. One aspect that particularly resonated with me is their examination of how we can draw lessons from historical technological advancements to better anticipate the benefits and risks of new tools in the digital age. This is particularly interesting and current, as we discuss the new advancements in AI today. Beyond its relevance to current tech issues, "Tools and Weapons" serves as a fascinating journey through the evolution of technology, from the industrial revolution to present-day innovations. It's a timely reminder of the importance of reflecting on our past as we shape the future of technology. I highly recommend immersing yourself in this compelling read to gain a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and implications associated with wielding digital tools. #ToolsandWeapons #TechEthics #MustRead 🚀

It’s never dull connecting with Daniel Newman, and today’s chat was no exception. We discussed and debated what business leaders need to know about GenAI at the Six Five Media Summit. My top piece of advice is to introduce and encourage the use of AI in the context of something you already use – AI features are most likely present and readily available in many of your IT approved enterprise apps. Getting started for many (or most!) should have little to do with building a large language model, procuring GPUs, or hiring the AI ops talent. Start where you are today, post quick wins in workflows your teams already deeply understand, and grow from there. https://lnkd.in/gda4drAE
