Many core parts of NZ's media industry have been largely unchanged for decades. Businesses have risen and fallen, but it's mostly been a game of inches and execution – the big, bold steps have been bounced by the Commerce Commission (NZME-Stuff, Sky-Vodafone) or shareholder revolts (Sky-Mediaworks).
