When you engage a recruiter, you have an opportunity to pull someone onto your team who will advocate for you behind the scenes. A lot of recruiters forward resumes to hiring contacts and don’t bother scheduling conversations or taking time to highlight qualities that aren't on candidates’ resumes. Having a recruiter convey how much of a fit you are for the role before the partners look at your resume or meet with you can go a long way toward paving the way for your candidacy and priming the interviews to go in a positive direction.
