There should be clear separation between the roles of the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer/ Managing Director. Thus, a Chairman of the Board should not be a CEO/ MD and vice versa. This is a good corporate governance practice that provides checks and balances between the different levels of governance within a company/institution. #corporategovernance

In recent years, corporate governance in the UK has come under scrutiny and the UK Government commissioned three independent reviews, all of which revealed systemic issues in auditing and corporate governance standards. It is crucial for organisations to be aware of the possible compliance risks that changes in governance could present.
